This User Guide refers to the FAO/INFOODS Global Food Composition Database for Phytate (PhyFoodComp), and contains the documentation of the data. It has been developed to help users make the best use of the database. The PhyFoodComp database is the first global repository of analytical data on phytate in its different forms and determined by different chemical methods, as well as of iron, zinc, calcium, water, and different phytate:mineral molar ratios. This database is important as phytate, mainly contained in pulses and cereals, is considered an anti-nutrient because it interferes with the absorption of minerals, especially of iron and zinc. The PhyFoodComp database will provide food composition compilers, nutritionists and researchers with access to good quality analytical phytate data and bibliography. Emphasis is put on demonstrating variations in phytate contents and their influencing factors. The aim of PhyFoodComp is to • demonstrate best ways to reduce phytate contents in foods and recipes; • motivate users to include phytate data into national or regional food composition tables or databases; • design better diets for mineral deficiencies; • develop well-targeted nutrition projects, programmes and interventions related to mineral deficiencies such as iron and zinc; and • reconsider re-evaluating the impact of phytate in diets on the bioavailability of iron and zinc when establishing their nutrient requirements.

Depression and anxiety are estimated to cost the global economy US $1 trillion each year driven predominantly by lost productivity. People living with severe mental health conditions are largely excluded from work despite participation in economic activities being important for recovery. The WHO guidelines on mental health at work provide evidence-based recommendations to promote mental health, prevent mental health conditions, and enable people living with mental health conditions to participate and thrive in work. The recommendations cover organizational interventions, manager training and worker training, individual interventions, return to work, and gaining employment. The guidelines on mental health at work aim to improve the implementation of evidence-based interventions for mental health at work.

The maritime industry plays an important role in international trade activities and the global economy. It is estimated that international shipping carries approximately 80% of global trade by volume and more than 70% by value. However, increasing maritime activities have had a negative impact on the marine environment and human health. For example, in November 2002, a tanker carrying 77000 tons of fuel oil sank in the Bay of Biscay, which polluted thousands of kilometers of Western European coasts, rivers, streams and swamps. Oil spills caused by ship accidents and other pollution associated with maritime activities have attracted considerable attention in the research community. A large number of studies on shipping pollution have been conducted across different disciplines. However, new challenges are emerging in maritime operation and management, leading to research questions related to intelligent technology and environmental protection, maritime pollution and governance, maritime accidents and environmental emergency.
