Choosing and Using Astronomical Eyepieces

Choosing and Using Astronomical Eyepieces PDF Author: William Paolini
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 1461477239
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 451

Book Description
A valuable reference that fills a number of niches including that of a buyer's guide, technical desk reference and observer's field guide. It documents the past market and its evolution, right up to the present day. In addition to appealing to practical astronomers - and potentially saving them money - it is useful both as a historical reference and as a detailed review of the current market place for this bustling astronomical consumer product. What distinguishes this book from other publications on astronomy is the involvement of observers from all aspects of the astronomical community, and also the major manufacturers of equipment. It not only catalogs the technical aspects of the many modern eyepieces but also documents amateur observer reactions and impressions over the years, using many different eyepieces. Eyepieces are the most talked-about accessories and collectible items available to the amateur astronomer. No other item of equipment commands such vigorous debate, or has evolved into such a remarkable array of forms and functions. 'Choosing and Using Astronomical Eyepieces' provides a vast amount of reference material to point readers towards the best buys and the right eyepieces for different kinds of observing.

Graph Classes

Graph Classes PDF Author: Andreas Brandstadt

ISBN: 9780898719796
Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 315

Book Description
This well-organized reference is a definitive encyclopedia for the literature on graph classes. It contains a survey of more than 200 classes of graphs, organized by types of properties used to define and characterize the classes, citing key theorems and literature references for each. The authors state results without proof, providing readers with easy access to far more key theorems than are commonly found in other mathematical texts. Interconnections between graph classes are also provided to make the book useful to a variety of readers.

Location Science

Location Science PDF Author: Gilbert Laporte
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 3319131117
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 650

Book Description
This comprehensive and clearly structured book presents essential information on modern Location Science. The book is divided into three parts: basic concepts, advanced concepts and applications. Written by the most respected specialists in the field and thoroughly reviewed by the editors, it first lays out the fundamental problems in Location Science and provides the reader with basic background information on location theory. Part II covers advanced models and concepts, broadening and expanding on the content presented in Part I. It provides the reader with important tools to help them understand and solve real-world location problems. Part III is dedicated to linking Location Science with other areas like GIS, telecommunications, healthcare, rapid transit networks, districting problems and disaster events, presenting a wide range of applications. This part enables the reader to understand the role of facility location in such areas, as well as to learn how to handle realistic location problems. The book is intended for researchers working on theory and applications involving location problems and models. It is also suitable as a textbook for graduate courses on facility location.

Residential Electrical Troubleshooting

Residential Electrical Troubleshooting PDF Author: Jesse Kuhlman
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 138

Book Description
When Jesse Kuhlman started this guide, his original intention was for it to be used by his own employees of Kuhlman Electrical Services, Inc. to refer to and learn from. Jesse takes the education of his company's employees very seriously and hoped to make them better field electricians. Being an effective troubleshooter, is one of the more difficult things to teach an employee as it requires a lot of experience due to the many different issues one may come across. As he started to develop the guide, Jesse thought why not tweak it, so it could be used by anyone who is interested? The potential audience includes everyone ranging from homeowners who are interested in electrical problems, to field electricians looking to improve their skills. This guide covers troubleshooting situations that can be found in residential homes including:* Switches* GFCI's* Arc-Fault circuit breakers* Electric Heat* Electrical Panels* Lighting* Basic HVAC systems* Low voltage doorbell, cable, Cat6 wiring* Troubleshooting steps depending on situation* And much more!!Jesse Kuhlman always said he learned the best from looking at diagrams, and put many in this guide. They can be found throughout and should help the reader in further understanding the material. At the end of writing this guide, Jesse said if this guide helps even one person to be a better electrician, mission accomplished!

Network Models

Network Models PDF Author: Michael O. Ball
Publisher: Elsevier Science Serials
ISBN: 9780444892928
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 786

Book Description
Hardbound. The set of papers in this Handbook reflect the rich theory and wide range of applications of network models. Two of the most vibrant applications areas of network models are telecommunications and transportation. Several chapters explicitly model issues arising in these problem domains. Research on network models has been closely aligned with the field of computer science both in developing data structures for efficiently implementing network algorithms and in analyzing the complexity of network problems and algorithms. The basic structure underlying all network problems is a graph. Thus, historically, there have been strong ties between network models and graph theory. A companion volume in the Handbook series, entitled Network Routing, examines problems related to the movement of commodities over a network. The problems treated arise in several application areas including logistics, telecommunications, facility location, VLSI desi

The Tools of Mathematical Reasoning

The Tools of Mathematical Reasoning PDF Author: Tamara J. Lakins
Publisher: American Mathematical Soc.
ISBN: 1470428997
Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 233

Book Description
This accessible textbook gives beginning undergraduate mathematics students a first exposure to introductory logic, proofs, sets, functions, number theory, relations, finite and infinite sets, and the foundations of analysis. The book provides students with a quick path to writing proofs and a practical collection of tools that they can use in later mathematics courses such as abstract algebra and analysis. The importance of the logical structure of a mathematical statement as a framework for finding a proof of that statement, and the proper use of variables, is an early and consistent theme used throughout the book.
