Book Description
LE COUPLAGE ENTRE UNE STRUCTURE VIBRANTE ET UN FLUIDE SOUS ECOULEMENT, APPELE COUPLAGE FLUIDE-ELASTIQUE, CONDUIT SELON LES CAS A DES SITUATIONS STABLES OU INSTABLES. LES INSTABILITES FLUIDE-ELASTIQUES SONT TRES NUISIBLES POUR LES STRUCTURES CAR LES AMPLITUDES VIBRATOIRES CROISSENT EXPONENTIELLEMENT JUSQU'A LEUR RUPTURE. PLUSIEURS DOMAINES, PARMI LESQUELS L'AERONAUTIQUE, LE NUCLEAIRE ET PLUS RECEMMENT LA BIOMECANIQUE, ONT ETE CONFRONTES A DES SITUATIONS DE COUPLAGE INSTABLE. AFIN D'ETUDIER LE COUPLAGE FLUIDE-ELASTIQUE ET D'EVITER LES INSTABILITES, DES METHODES NUMERIQUES ONT ETE RECEMMENT DEVELOPPEES RELATIVEMENT A DES PROBLEMES INDUSTRIELS SPECIFIQUES, POUR EPAULER LES NOMBREUSES DONNEES EXPERIMENTALES QUI ONT ETE DEJA REUNIES. NOUS PROPOSONS ICI UNE METHODE SIMPLE POUR LE CALCUL NUMERIQUE DE FORCES FLUIDE-ELASTIQUES RELATIVEMENT A DES FLUIDES NEWTONIENS INCOMPRESSIBLES ET POUR DE FAIBLES AMPLITUDES VIBRATOIRES, ADAPTEE A PLUSIEURS SITUATIONS RENCONTREES DANS LE DOMAINE NUCLEAIRE. BASEE SUR UN DEVELOPPEMENT AU PREMIER ORDRE DES CONDITIONS AUX LIMITES EN VITESSES, CETTE METHODE PERMET D'UTILISER UN DOMAINE FLUIDE FIXE TOUT AU LONG D'UN CALCUL DYNAMIQUE, EVITANT AINSI LES DIFFICULTES LIEES AUX DEFORMATIONS DU MAILLAGE. LA METHODE A ETE MISE EN UVRE POUR DEUX TYPES DE CALCULS : MOUVEMENT DE PAROIS IMPOSE PERMETTANT DE DETERMINER LES COEFFICIENTS DE MASSE, AMORTISSEMENT ET RIGIDITE AJOUTES, ET MOUVEMENTS DE PAROIS LIBRES A PARTIR D'UNE PERTURBATION INITIALE AFIN DE METTRE EN EVIDENCE LES SITUATIONS INSTABLES. LA VALIDITE DE LA METHODE A ETE MONTREE A L'AIDE DE QUATRE CAS-TESTS D'ECOULEMENTS LAMINAIRES : CYLINDRE VIBRANT EN MILIEU VISQUEUX, DEFORMATION STATIQUE D'UN CANAL, ECOULEMENT A L'INTERIEUR D'UN TUBE ENCASTRE-LIBRE ET FAISCEAU DE TUBES SOUS ECOULEMENT TRANSVERSE. ENFIN, NOUS AVONS MONTRE QUE LA METHODE N'EST PAS ADAPTEE AUX ECOULEMENTS FORTEMENT PERIODIQUES ET NOUS PROPOSONS UNE LOI DE PAROIS POUR LA MODELISATION D'ECOULEMENTS TURBULENTS.

Computational Fluid and Solid Mechanics
Author: K.J. Bathe
Publisher: Elsevier
ISBN: 0080552811
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 975
Book Description
The MIT mission - "to bring together Industry and Academia and to nurture the next generation in computational mechanics is of great importance to reach the new level of mathematical modeling and numerical solution and to provide an exciting research environment for the next generation in computational mechanics." Mathematical modeling and numerical solution is today firmly established in science and engineering. Research conducted in almost all branches of scientific investigations and the design of systems in practically all disciplines of engineering can not be pursued effectively without, frequently, intensive analysis based on numerical computations. The world we live in has been classified by the human mind, for descriptive and analysis purposes, to consist of fluids and solids, continua and molecules; and the analyses of fluids and solids at the continuum and molecular scales have traditionally been pursued separately. Fundamentally, however, there are only molecules and particles for any material that interact on the microscopic and macroscopic scales. Therefore, to unify the analysis of physical systems and to reach a deeper understanding of the behavior of nature in scientific investigations, and of the behavior of designs in engineering endeavors, a new level of analysis is necessary. This new level of mathematical modeling and numerical solution does not merely involve the analysis of a single medium but must encompass the solution of multi-physics problems involving fluids, solids, and their interactions, involving multi-scale phenomena from the molecular to the macroscopic scales, and must include uncertainties in the given data and the solution results. Nature does not distinguish between fluids and solids and does not ever repeat itself exactly. This new level of analysis must also include, in engineering, the effective optimization of systems, and the modeling and analysis of complete life spans of engineering products, from design to fabrication, to possibly multiple repairs, to end of service.

Basic Concepts for Simple and Complex Liquids
Author: Jean-Louis Barrat
Publisher: Cambridge University Press
ISBN: 9780521789530
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 410
Book Description
Presenting a unified approach, this book focusses on the concepts and theoretical methods that are necessary for an understanding of the physics and chemistry of the fluid state. The authors do not attempt to cover the whole field in an encyclopedic manner. Instead, important ideas are presented in a concise and rigorous style, and illustrated with examples from both simple molecular liquids and more complex soft condensed matter systems such as polymers, colloids, and liquid crystals.
