Modern Chinese painting embodies the constant renewal and reinvigorations of Chinese civilization amidst rebellions, reforms, and revolutions, even if the process may appear confusing and bewildering. China—Art—Modernity provides a critical introduction to modern and contemporary Chinese art as a whole.
