Travel Time Prediction under Egypt Heterogeneous Traffic Conditions using Neural Network and Data Fusion

Travel Time Prediction under Egypt Heterogeneous Traffic Conditions using Neural Network and Data Fusion PDF Author: Mohamed Zaki
Publisher: Infinite Study
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 16

Book Description
Cairo is experiencing traffic congestion that places it among the worst in the world. Obviously, it is difficult if not impossible to solve the transportation problem because it is multi-dimensional problem but it's good to reduce this waste of money and the associated waste of time resulting from congestion.

Urban Traffic Networks

Urban Traffic Networks PDF Author: Nathan H. Gartner
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 3642796419
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 376

Book Description
The problems of urban traffic in the industrially developed countries have been at the top of the priority list for a long time. While making a critical contribution to the economic well being of those countries, transportation systems in general and highway traffic in particular, also have detrimental effects which are evident in excessive congestion, high rates of accidents and severe pollution problems. Scientists from different disciplines have played an important role in the development and refinement of the tools needed for the planning, analysis, and control of urban traffic networks. In the past several years, there were particularly rapid advances in two areas that affect urban traffic: 1. Modeling of traffic flows in urban networks and the prediction of the resulting equilibrium conditions; 2. Technology for communication with the driver and the ability to guide him, by providing him with useful, relevant and updated information, to his desired destination.

Feature Papers of Forecasting

Feature Papers of Forecasting PDF Author: Sonia Leva
Publisher: MDPI
ISBN: 3036510303
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 188

Book Description
Nowadays, forecast applications are receiving unprecedent attention thanks to their capability to improve the decision-making processes by providing useful indications. A large number of forecast approaches related to different forecast horizons and to the specific problem that have to be predicted have been proposed in recent scientific literature, from physical models to data-driven statistic and machine learning approaches. In this Special Issue, the most recent and high-quality researches about forecast are collected. A total of nine papers have been selected to represent a wide range of applications, from weather and environmental predictions to economic and management forecasts. Finally, some applications related to the forecasting of the different phases of COVID in Spain and the photovoltaic power production have been presented.

Urban Informatics

Urban Informatics PDF Author: Wenzhong Shi
Publisher: Springer Nature
ISBN: 9811589836
Category : Social Science
Languages : en
Pages : 941

Book Description
This open access book is the first to systematically introduce the principles of urban informatics and its application to every aspect of the city that involves its functioning, control, management, and future planning. It introduces new models and tools being developed to understand and implement these technologies that enable cities to function more efficiently – to become ‘smart’ and ‘sustainable’. The smart city has quickly emerged as computers have become ever smaller to the point where they can be embedded into the very fabric of the city, as well as being central to new ways in which the population can communicate and act. When cities are wired in this way, they have the potential to become sentient and responsive, generating massive streams of ‘big’ data in real time as well as providing immense opportunities for extracting new forms of urban data through crowdsourcing. This book offers a comprehensive review of the methods that form the core of urban informatics from various kinds of urban remote sensing to new approaches to machine learning and statistical modelling. It provides a detailed technical introduction to the wide array of tools information scientists need to develop the key urban analytics that are fundamental to learning about the smart city, and it outlines ways in which these tools can be used to inform design and policy so that cities can become more efficient with a greater concern for environment and equity.

Hidden Markov and Other Models for Discrete- valued Time Series

Hidden Markov and Other Models for Discrete- valued Time Series PDF Author: Iain L. MacDonald
Publisher: CRC Press
ISBN: 9780412558504
Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 256

Book Description
Discrete-valued time series are common in practice, but methods for their analysis are not well-known. In recent years, methods have been developed which are specifically designed for the analysis of discrete-valued time series. Hidden Markov and Other Models for Discrete-Valued Time Series introduces a new, versatile, and computationally tractable class of models, the "hidden Markov" models. It presents a detailed account of these models, then applies them to data from a wide range of diverse subject areas, including medicine, climatology, and geophysics. This book will be invaluable to researchers and postgraduate and senior undergraduate students in statistics. Researchers and applied statisticians who analyze time series data in medicine, animal behavior, hydrology, and sociology will also find this information useful.
