Book Description
A review of the fundamental theory for the transverse electromagnetic mode (TEM) on transmission lines, with emphasis on communications applications. The coverage includes transient performance of relevance for digital systems as well as the more traditional steady-state sinusoidal performance.

Communication Network & Transmission Lines

Communication Network & Transmission Lines PDF Author: Uday A. Bakshi
Publisher: Technical Publications
ISBN: 9333223738
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 610

Book Description
The book is written for an undergraduate course on the Communication Network and Transmission Lines. It provides comprehensive explanation of four terminal symmetrical and asymmetrical networks, attenuators, filters, network synthesis, equalizers, transmission line theory and Smith chart. The book starts with explaining the symmetrical and asymmetrical four terminal networks which form the basis of attenuators and filters. Then book provides the detailed discussion of various types of attenuators and filters. The discussion of composite filters, lattice filter and crystal filter is also included in support. The book incorporates the discussion of Hurwitz polynomials and positive real function and continues to explain the network synthesis of LC, RC, RL and RLC networks. The book also explains the various types of equalizers. The book covers the transmission line parameters in detail along with reflection on a line, reflection loss and reflection factor. The chapter on transmission line at radio frequency includes parameters of line at high frequency, standing waves, standing wave ratio, single stub matching, double stub matching and Smith chart. The book uses plain, simple and lucid language to explain each topic. The book provides the logical method of explaining the various complicated topics and stepwise methods to make the understanding easy. The variety of solved examples is the feature of this book. The book explains the philosophy of the subject which makes the understanding of the concepts very clear and makes the subject more interesting.

Transmission Lines for Communications

Transmission Lines for Communications PDF Author: C. W. Davidson
Publisher:
ISBN: 9780333473993
Category : Electric lines
Languages : en
Pages : 244

Book Description
Many of the topics covered in this text are relevant for undergraduates studying the basic theory of transmission lines, while the more advanced topics are appropriate for postgraduates and engineers concerned with communication or digital systems. It is now feasible to provide computer programs for the synthesis of transmission line systems and for the study of their performance. A range of programs is given which can serve as a basis for a computer-aided learning approach to transmission line matching methods.

Transmission Lines in Digital and Analog Electronic Systems

Book Description
In the last 30 years there have been dramatic changes in electrical technology--yet the length of the undergraduate curriculum has remained four years. Until some ten years ago, the analysis of transmission lines was a standard topic in the EE and CpE undergraduate curricula. Today most of the undergraduate curricula contain a rather brief study of the analysis of transmission lines in a one-semester junior-level course on electromagnetics. In some schools, this study of transmission lines is relegated to a senior technical elective or has disappeared from the curriculum altogether. This raises a serious problem in the preparation of EE and CpE undergraduates to be competent in the modern industrial world. For the reasons mentioned above, today's undergraduates lack the basic skills to design high-speed digital and high-frequency analog systems. It does little good to write sophisticated software if the hardware is unable to process the instructions. This problem will increase as the speeds and frequencies of these systems continue to increase seemingly without bound. This book is meant to repair that basic deficiency.
