Le littoral constitue aujourd'hui la première destination touristique française concentrant près de la moitié des nuitées, et se place comme l'un des secteurs majeurs de l'économie touristique. Pour connaître et mieux comprendre les stratégies touristiques engagées en matière de patrimoine maritime, ODIT France a conduit une réflexion sur l'ensemble du littoral français, en dressant un état des lieux de l'offre en patrimoine maritime et en répertoriant les actions de valorisation mises en place. Ce dossier s'intéresse ainsi au patrimoine maritime culturel mobilier et immobilier (gréements, architecture et urbanisme littoral) et aux systèmes d'interprétation touristiques (musées, écomusées, centres de la mer).
