Photoionization of N2 and O2 Ahead of Strong Shock Waves in a Shock Tube
Author: A. J. Mulac
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Gas dynamics
Languages : en
Pages : 48
Book Description
An improved calculation of photoionizaton ahead of strong shock waves in N2 and O2 has been carried out. In contrast to previous calculations, these calculations include a more detailed kinetic model, a source of finite extent, and wall reflection. Very good agreement (℗± 20%) has been obtained between calculated values of electron density and values measured in the experiments of Presley and Omura.

The High Temperature Aspects of Hypersonic Flow
Author: Wilbur C. Nelson
Publisher: Elsevier
ISBN: 1483223310
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 801
Book Description
The High Temperature Aspects of Hypersonic Flow is a record of the proceedings of the AGARD-NATO Specialists' Meeting, held at the Technical Centre for Experimental Aerodynamics, Rhode-Saint-Genese, Belgium in April 1962. The book contains the papers presented during the meeting that tackled a broad range of topics in the aspects of hypersonic flow. The subjects covered during the meeting include pressure measurements, interference effects, the use of wind tunnels in aircraft development testing, high temperature gas characteristics, boundary layer research, stability and control and the use of rocket vehicles in flight research. Aerospace engineers and aeronautical engineers will find the book invaluable.

The Release of Thermonuclear Energy by Inertial Confinement
Author: Friedwardt Winterberg
Publisher: World Scientific
ISBN: 9814295906
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 437
Book Description
This is a comprehensive book which describes the three essential parts of what is known as "Inertial Confinement Fusion": the way thermonuclear burn takes place in non-magnetized, magnetized and fusion-fission hybrid assemblies; the pulse power ignition technology (nuclear, electrical, optical and chemical); and the applications of inertial confinement fusion technology for peaceful nuclear energy on Earth and in space. An integrated single text of such extensive technical width is a rare find, and younger generations of nuclear engineers any physicists will appreciate this book as a companion to their traditional textbooks.
