An integrated mathematical modelling system for simulation of surface and ground water flows is presented. The system has been established through a coupling between a one-dimensional river modelling system and a deterministic, distributed and physical-based hydrological modelling system. The integrated modelling system can simulate surface and ground water flows and their dynamic interaction, as well as various biological and chemical water quality processes.
