Excerpt from The Romance of Military Life: Being Souvenirs Connected With Thirty Years' Service In a prefatory note to the extraordinary and eventful narrative, given under the name of Bar court, I have mentioned that I am indebted for the details it contains, to a brother officer with whom I was formerly associated on a particular service.
