They were tested at different temperatures and no variations in registering were discovered. In many of the experiments two thermometers were used under each mate rial and in most instances the thermometers were reversed near the conclusion of each experiment before final readings were taken. In this way possibilities of errors in registering were eliminated. In all cases many readings, at short intervals, were recorded in each experiment.
