Walter Ker was born in 1656 in Scotland, where he was a parishioner in the Dalsert, Lanarkshire parish. He and his wife Margaret emigrated to America in 1685. They eventually settled at Freehold, Monmouth Co., New Jersey, where he died in 1748. Margaret Ker " ... was born in 1651 and died October 1, 1734. She may have been the daughter of James Johnstone.
