Book Description
The word gospel means "good news" and is used for terms of truth and of the life and teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. I was moved to write about this because we live in a time when we are vastly becoming immune to the Gospel, or, maybe better put, we are becoming desensitized to constantly hearing the Word while indulging the worldly "feel good" things that are bombarding us on a daily basis. The apostles also lived in a time when they too had their work cut out for them, and the Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John's writings became the very gospels we are speaking of now, as well as David, and maybe as a side not for these gospels, some 2000 years later, this book might help some of you who are in my same situation: believers who are sinners stuck in a world so evil that no society has ever seen it this bad before; believers who are sinners that want nothing more but the strength and power to break away from the very things that are holding us bound to this way of life; believers who are sinners that feel like losers who cannot give up those "feel good" things that have a more physical reality; sinners that are believers through hope and wanting to be on the right side, and yet not wanting to give up luxuries until we really have to, the "just in case" mentality, the selfish self, that is not always in agreeance with our minds' moral standing. I only hope you read this book with an open mind to God. If He shows you that what you read is no good, then so be it, for I am not God. I only know that I am a Sinner that is a Believer that wants to share with you from my understanding of the scriptures and not from my selfish desires. Because I believe that God has been with me, I believe that He has taught me understandings that must be preached and must be written down. If this book does nothing else but allow you to know that you are precious in His sight and that He wants you to come to Him with all your being, then I will be happy.

Category : Religion

Pages : 192

Book Description
Christians know that God loves them, but can easily feel that he is perpetually disappointed and frustrated, maybe even close to giving up on them. As a result, they focus a lot—and rightly so—on what Jesus has done to appease God’s wrath for sin. But how does Jesus Christ actually feel about his people amid all their sins and failures? This book draws us to Matthew 11, where Jesus describes himself as “gentle and lowly in heart,” longing for his people to find rest in him. The gospel flows from God’s deepest heart for his people, a heart of tender love for the sinful and suffering. These chapters take readers into the depths of Christ’s very heart for sinners, diving deep into Bible passages that speak of who Christ is and encouraging readers with the affections of Christ for his people. His longing heart for sinners comforts and sustains readers in their up-and-down lives.

These extraordinary books are read, re-read, and discussed in churches, Bible study groups, and homes everywhere. John MacArthur's The Gospel According to Jesus is one of those books. In The Gospel According to Jesus, MacArthur tackles the idea of "easy believism," challenging Christians to re-evaluate their commitment to Christ by examining their fruits. MacArthur asks, "What does it really mean to be saved?" He urges readers to understand that their conversion was more than a mere point in time, that, by definition, it includes a lifetime of obediently walking with Jesus as Lord. This 20th Anniversary edition of MacArthur's provocative, Scripture-based book contains one new chapter and is further revised to provide Christians in the 21st century a fresh perspective on the intrinsic relationship between faith and works, clearly revealing why Jesus is both Savior and Lord to all who believe. nity. Book Description
“You have a call, Elder Wilder.” When missionary Micah Wilder set his sights on bringing a Baptist congregation into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he had no idea that he was the one about to be changed. Yet when he finally came to know the God of the Bible, Micah had no choice but to surrender himself—no matter the consequences. For a passionate young Mormon who had grown up in the Church, finding authentic faith meant giving up all he knew: his community, his ambitions, and his place in the world. Yet as Micah struggled to reconcile the teachings of his Church with the truths revealed in the Bible, he awakened to his need for God’s grace. This led him to be summoned to the door of the mission president, terrified but confident in the testimony he knew could cost him everything. Passport to Heaven is a gripping account of Micah’s surprising journey from living as a devoted member of a religion based on human works to embracing the divine mercy and freedom that can only be found in Jesus Christ.

Hell's Best Kept Secret

Hell's Best Kept Secret PDF Author: Ray Comfort
Publisher: Whitaker House
ISBN: 1603749926
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 197

Book Description
How many souls have you won to Christ? How many are still walking with the Lord? All, some, a few? The facts are: Evangelical success is at an all-time low. We’re producing more backsliders than true converts. The fall-away rate—from large crusades to local churches—is between 80 to 90 percent. Why are so many unbelievers turning away from the message of the gospel? Doesn’t the Bible tell us how to bring sinners to true repentance? If so, where have we missed it? The answer may surprise you. One hundred years ago, Satan buried the crucial key needed to unlock the unbeliever’s heart. Now Ray Comfort boldly breaks away from modern tradition and calls for a return to biblical evangelism. If you’re experiencing evangelical frustration over lost souls, unrepentant sinners, and backslidden “believers,” then look no further. This radical approach could be the missing dimension needed to win our generation to Christ.
