The Essence of Truth

The Essence of Truth PDF Author: Martin Heidegger
Publisher: A&C Black
ISBN: 9780826459237
Category : Philosophy
Languages : en
Pages : 268

Book Description
The Essence of Truth must count as one of Heidegger's most important works, for nowhere else does he give a comparably thorough explanation of what is arguably the most fundamental and abiding theme of his entire philosophy, namely the difference between truth as the "unhiddenness of beings" and truth as the "correctness of propositions". For Heidegger, it is by neglecting the former primordial concept of truth in favor of the latter derivative concept that Western philosophy, beginning already with Plato, took off on its "metaphysical" course towards the bankruptcy of the present day. This first ever translation into English consists of a lecture course delivered by Heidegger at the University of Freiburg in 1931-32. Part One of the course provides a detailed analysis of Plato's allegory of the cave in the Republic, while Part Two gives a detailed exegesis and interpretation of a central section of Plato's Theaetetus, and is essential for the full understanding of his later well-known essay Plato's Doctrine of Truth. As always with Heidegger's writings on the Greeks, the point of his interpretative method is to bring to light the original meaning of philosophical concepts, especially to free up these concepts to their intrinsic power.

Being Myself

Being Myself PDF Author: Rupert Spira
Publisher: New Harbinger Publications
ISBN: 1684031648
Category : Self-Help
Languages : en
Pages : 80

Book Description
Being Myself is a contemplative exploration of the essential nature of our self. Everyone has the sense of ‘being myself,' but not everyone knows their self clearly. In most cases, our sense of self is mixed up with the content of experience and, as a result, its natural condition of peace and happiness is veiled. Through investigation and analogy, the meditations in this collection take us back to our true nature again and again, until we begin to find our self naturally and effortlessly established there, as that. In time, experience loses its capacity to veil our being, and its innate peace and joy emerge from the background of experience. * * * The Essence of Meditation Series presents meditations on the essential, non-dual understanding that lies at the heart of all the great religious and spiritual traditions, compiled from contemplations led by Rupert Spira at his meetings and retreats. This simple, contemplative approach, which encourages a clear seeing of one’s experience rather than any kind of effort or discipline, leads the reader to an experiential understanding of their own essential being and the peace and fulfilment that are inherent within it.

The Essence of Music

The Essence of Music PDF Author: Dr. Len Bergantino Ed.D. Ph.D. (USC)
Publisher: Xlibris Corporation
ISBN:
Category : Psychology
Languages : en
Pages : 462

Book Description
Do you think that some slug who looks very professional who “whispers” an occasional interpretation to you five times a week for 7 years can make one bit of difference in your life or does such a psychotoxic slug called a psychoanalyst merely stick you in an emotional toilet bowl for seven years having the cumulative result of turning you into a hopeless bastard who will never turn the tragic corner in his or her life? Can your analyst analyze an archaic liquid symbiotic or an osmotic transference, or can they even recognize this phenomena in order to analyze it? If the psychoanalyst cannot analyze these transferences they can’t do an analysis! I used to get “good faith” patients who had the balls to work on the cutting edge at the same time I did because they had had combinations of twenty years of two seven year analyses plus several briefer psychotheraphies, only to be as crazy as the day they walked in! (-$200,000.00) As Dr. Donald Rinsley, M.D., fellow-American College of Psychoanalysts wrote about me, my work has both a healing effect and affect. Patients used to pay me six months in advance to hold the time open because I was irreplaceable; I was the only one who could analyze the psychotic core of the personality and I was the only who could actually do what Dr. Wilfred R. Bion, MRCS (Medical Royal College of Surgeons) wrote about analyzing the psychotic core of the personality. As I am seventy-nine years old, I have written five books that must be read and digested in their entirety. As these books are the thing-in-itself they will transform the reader into the kinds of analyst, patient and psychotherapist who can make a difference in helping people turn the tragic corner in their lives! In other words, these five books are analysis! These books were written to be around for a few hundred years and were directly guided by the Almighty! By: Dr. LEN BERGANTINO, Ed. D. The Essence

The Essence PDF Author: J. Maci
Publisher: Xlibris Corporation
ISBN: 1503550354
Category : Poetry
Languages : en
Pages : 74

Book Description
The book consist of thirty two poems, letters, and/or expressions. It start off with romance, builds up to a middle twist and ends again with love. I wrote this for people out there that can't find words to express to their loved ones, although not strictly. I want you to laugh, meditate, feel, and enjoy this book. If you must take it seriously be professional and profound. If you don't take it seriously, simply grasp from it what you will. I thought of it to get you inspired to do something or help you on your way to a better you. I wrote this for your enjoyment. Even if you've never read poetry before, I put this toguether thinking of many ways to appreciate it, with different angles and points of view. If you like something its for you, if you don't, simply ignore it. The expression is my gift to you, the lifestyle was theoretically concluded from what I understand. The names I used do not necessarily represent the actions, or character of people with that name. Love can be expressed in many different ways, poetry is a classic and natural way I am comfortable with. I thought of an ideal, and expressed it into reality. I have seen, read, and experienced many things, and love was one of them. Once is enough to understand, that you can't find it in someone else, but in yourself first. If you are reading this may it be of great benefit and advancement in your life.
