Book Description
Eric Dollard is a legendary electrical engineer trained by RCA, Bell Labs and the US Navy. He is the only man alive to have successfully replicated Nikola Tesla's wireless electricity technology and is considered to be the modern living Tesla. Because of his contribution to electrical science and his advancements in a Tesla-Alexanderson type of Advanced Seismic Warning System, the Federal Government's documents in relation to this project refer to him as Dr. Eric Dollard, which confers to him an honorary PhD. His fans lovingly refer to him as Professor Dollard. The Lone Pine Writings (Part 1) and its content was developed out of the general frustration of the author when trying to teach others about his work in electrical engineering. This collection of papers started appearing in discussion threads on Energetic Forum around 2011. At the time, Eric Dollard was living in his famous 1980 Toyota Corolla, in the harsh wastelands of Lone Pine, California. Originally, Eric wrote the material out on paper and mailed it to a colleague who transcribed the material and posted it in the forums under the pseudonym "T-REX". Each paper or letter was called a "transmission" in honor of the language of a radio operator and contained information on specific electrical engineering terms and how they are to be used. The original format of the material is retained in this edition of the book. The phenomena we call "electricity" is a dynamic, but artificial presentation of the Natural World, and because of this, its behavior follows specific rules. Understanding these specific behaviors is the key to engineering this phenomena, but developing a common language with which to describe these behaviors is the key to teaching others these engineering skills. The purpose of this book is to provide clarity for the electrical engineering community regarding the use of common terms for electrical units. The last attempt to standardize this language was made by Oliver Heaviside over 100 years ago and his effort was met by censure from the Royal Society of London. It is hoped that the release of this book will be met with a more enlightened response. Peter A. Lindemann, D.Sc. Editor, A & P Electronic Media A portion of the proceeds will go to EPD Laboratories, Inc., a 501(c)3 tax-deductible non-profit corporation that supports Eric Dollard in advancing the electrical sciences.

Versor Algebra

Book Description
Charles Proteus Steinmetz's original math model is a natural outgrowth of Nikola Tesla's polyphase power systems. Tesla was the discoverer, but Steinmetz was the builder who first applied Versor Algebra to the analysis of alternating current power systems. In my presentation and book Four Quadrant Representation of Electricity, my extension of Steinmetz's work is presented in the most simple way possible using very simple analogies, pictures and diagrams. It was a very difficult task as the goal was to facilitate an understanding for the layman. That presentation was given at the 2013 Energy Science & Technology Conference and shortly thereafter, the book version was released, which went into more detail that was not covered in the presentation.Tesla's polyphase power system was originally four poles or four phases. Steinmetz is the one who adapted it into a three pole or three phase system, which is the prominent system of today. The complication is that three phase systems cannot be explained by conventional mathematics. With three phase systems, there is no plus or minus and that is the reason why the conventional math doesn't work anymore. That left a big gap in polyphase power systems until Dr. Fortescue came up with the system of Symmetrical Coordinates. This laid the groundwork for polyphase mathematics for any number of phases. And ultimately, it can be extended into the Pythagorean understanding of numbers. The "Fortescue Method" was never fully developed because of its complexity. The proper name for this is "Sequence Algebra" and the rudiments were presented in my presentation and book Four Quadrant Representation of Electricity.Even though the system has become adopted for general engineering usage, Versor Algebra as Applied to Polyphase Power Systems and/or Versor Algebra Vol. II, Special Theories of Sequence Operators as Applied to Power Engineering is the first theoretical basis that has ever been presented on the subject.Versor Algebra as Applied to Polyphase Power Systems and/or Versor Algebra Vol. II, Special Theories of Sequence Operators as Applied to Power Engineering is the next logical step after Four Quandrant Representation of Electricity as it takes the reader into the mathematical journey of the mathematical model and theory that is necessary to realize the unique electrical waves that exist in polypahse power systems. These waves are actually beyond the original understanding of Tesla and Steinmetz with regard to polyphase power systems. It is important to understand that this is all possible with simple 9th grade algebra. I take the reader through a step-by-step process from very basic algebra and log-rhythms into the more complex subject. The process involves very simple but numerous steps to guide the reader into the understanding of polyphase mathematics.Through my own journey in writing this Versor Algebra book, I have been able to unify the polyphonic music of Bach and his contemporaries as this music follows the logic of sequence algebra perfectly. In fact, the book was written when listening to this music, which aided the process greatly.

The Electrical Utility in a Digital Age & Revival of the Science of Electricity in the Digital Age

The Electrical Utility in a Digital Age & Revival of the Science of Electricity in the Digital Age PDF Author: Simon Davies
Publisher:

Pages : 36

Book Description
Presently, much discussion exists regarding the proliferation of harmonics in the electric utility system. Moreover, the susceptibility of this system to damage or destruction from a well-positioned nuclear E.M.P. is a subject of great concern.Such problems are not necessarily intrinsic to the process of electric transmission and distribution, but only present themselves when certain configurations exist within the electric utility system. Paramount in any transmission or distribution system is that such system must be a closed system, that is, the electromagnetic boundary condition must be maintained to the highest practical degree. This assures that the entry or exit of extraneous electric forces is minimized.Presently, with regard to the electric utility system, the electromagnetic boundary condition is being violated in two ways:1)By the ubiquitous employment of Wye to Wye connected transmission and distribution transformers, and related load configuration2)Through the extension of a common neutral connection throughout the entire electric utility systemThe widespread and enforced adoption of these practices has rendered the electric utility system an open system, or in other words, an antenna system, one of unprecedented proportions. The consequences must be obvious. It is the objective of the following series of engineering reports to re-establish a fundamental understanding of polyphase alternating current, and then apply this understanding to the analysis of the situation as it exists today with regard to the electric utility system. In this Digital Age, the theoretical basis provided for Electrical Engineering has been defiled, reduced to an assemblage of delusive pronouncements enforced by a cabal of academic theoreticians. What gives authoritative force to their dictates is the overtly complex and convoluted mathematics which enshrouds them. This mathematics in turn becomes a "rite of passage" in teaching and replacing reason and experiment. Once the idols become digitized, they become law, and consequently electricity has become a lost science, relegated to the same scrap heap as alchemy. However, in historical perspective, the theoretical basis for electrical engineering had achieved a very high level of development at the onset of the 20th century, this to meet the demands of a rapidly developing commercial enterprise, most notably that of the electro-magnetic telegraph and later electric light and power. Electrical science progressed remarkably well in this era, and thus became an exact science which engendered well thought out theories. The foundations of this science were derived from the Experimental Researches of Michael Faraday and their Mathematical Development by Clerk Maxwell. This became known as the "Faraday-Maxwell" Theory of Electricity.

The Meaning of Unity in Energy Conversion Systems

The Meaning of Unity in Energy Conversion Systems PDF Author: James F Murray III
Publisher:
ISBN: 9781650183657

Languages : en
Pages : 136

Book Description
Initially, it had been assumed that a simple ratio computed by dividing the output power by the input power would provide a reliable yardstick for motor power efficiency. The basic idea was sound, for the closer the quotient came to unity, the nearer the motor efficiency would be to 100%. Hence began the so-called "Quest for Unity." However, early "electric engines" were very inefficient, probably delivering no more than 30% of the electrical input power to the output shaft. Therefore, it quickly became evident that not all the applied power was being converted to a mechanical output. Clearly, inefficiencies were involved, and they would have to be accounted for. Until this was complete, the simplified approach to establishing a Factor of Unity could not be realized. What is remarkable, in the history of motor development, is the curious degree of synergy that seems to have accompanied these early pioneering efforts. Between 1839 and 1850 the British Brew Master James Joule conducted an elegant series of experiments, in which he sought to unify electrical, chemical and thermal phenomena by demonstrating their inter-convertibility and their quantitative equivalence. The results of Joule's work were published in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, with a very impressive title: "On the Mechanical Equivalence of Heat." The contributions of Lord Kelvin must be considered next. His paper, "The Dynamical Equivalent of Heat," published in 1851, contended that energy could be "lost to man irrecoverably; but not lost to the material world". Thomson was thus the first person to understand that all energy changes involve energy dissipation, and losses. During the second half of the nineteenth century Kelvin and other scientists, including Clausius, Rankine, Maxwell and, Boltzmann, continued to develop these ideas. Their combined efforts resulted in the establishment of the Science of Thermodynamics; with Conservation of Energy as its First Law and the Dissipation of Energy as its Second Law. Accordingly, motor researchers were thus made aware of the extreme importance of classifying all known motor losses, and accounting for them with the same degree of accuracy as would be exhibited in the well-established science of corporate book-keeping. Ultimately, such practices would lead to the development of two principle kinds of Efficiency Measurements, both very valuable in all research pertaining to rotating components, but, particularly valuable for developing an understanding of over-unity as a scientific fact. Both efficiency concepts shall be fully explained in this presentation. Simply, this book serves as a definitive guide for those who wish to properly validate their input vs output claims.INCLUDES copies of one of the most significant and important patents in history and a related patent on Jim Murray's Dynaflux Alternator for convenience as it is used as an example in the calculations.
