Book Description
Opened on May 1, 1854, the State Almshouse at Tewksbury was a venture by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to provide economical care for state paupers. Originally intended to accommodate 500 residents, by the end of 1854 the almshouse had admitted well over 2,200 paupers, thus necessitating future expansion. Although the virtue of the institution was called into question in 1883 by Gov. Benjamin Butler, who decried Supt. Thomas J. Marsh, the almshouse would continue to serve the destitute of the commonwealth for years to come. The name would later be changed to Tewksbury State Hospital to reflect the inclusion of the mentally ill, the sick, and those suffering from infectious disease as patients. Today, the hospital remains operational in providing specialized care in the Thomas J. Saunders Building while also serving as host to various governmental agencies and community organizations like the Public Health Museum on its historic campus. Although many of the early structures were demolished in the 1970s, the Tewksbury State Hospital remains an active institution brimming with architectural beauty and a rich public health history.

Book Description
Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The Oakland Coliseum was not the best place for Jon Lester to breathe freely. The stadium was notorious for sewage backups, and Lester had never felt comfortable on the mound there. #2 On June 10, 2013, Lester was to make his final start of the first half on Saturday night. He was certain of only one thing: he was not going to step into the break without exhausting his search for solutions. #3 I found out that the Red Sox had included me in their pitch to Lester in the winter of 2014–2015, after I had left the Red Sox organization the first time to work for the MLB Players’ Association, because they had wanted him to know that they had reached an agreement to bring me back into the organization. #4 The next night, Lester was able to pitch a lot better than the team had the previous night. He felt more in command of the game, and situations that arose during the game.

Her first big case involves a fifteen-year-old girl assaulted by a much older man at one of Boston's most prestigious private clubs. The girl, Chloe Turner, only wants the safe return of her laptop and backpack. But like her mentor and boss, Mattie has a knack for asking the right questions of the wrong people. Soon Spenser and Mattie find ties between the exploitation of dozens of other girls from working class families to an eccentric billionaire and his sadistic henchwoman with a mansion on Commonwealth Avenue. The mystery man's wealth, power and connections extend well beyond Massachusetts - maybe even beyond the United States. Spenser and trusted ally Hawk must again watch out for Mattie as she unravels a massive sex-trafficking ring that will take them from Boston to Boca Raton to the Bahamas, crossing paths with local toughs, a highly-trained security company, and an old enemy of Spenser's--the Gray Man--for a final epic showdown.
