The purpose of this standard is to help assure that licensed dosimetry services meet certain technical requirements and implement certain quality assurance measures in accordance with the Nuclear Safety & Control Act. The technical requirements relate to such matters as measurement quantities, accuracy & precision specifications, performance testing, and independent testing. These requirements are set out for dosimetry services for external radiation, for internal radiation, and for radon progeny, radon gas, & long-lived radioactive dust. The quality assurance requirements relate to such matters as management policy, personnel qualifications, work control, deocument control, calibration & maintenance, verification, corrective action, and independent audits.
