Oh Baby
Author: Kathy Fray
Publisher: Penguin Random House New Zealand Limited
ISBN: 1775538680
Category : Family & Relationships
Languages : en
Pages : 421
Book Description
Much-recommended by new mothers, this is the only book you'll need for the best baby advice. Now completely revised and updated. Refreshingly honest, openly frank and candidly blunt, this book has been written by a mother (who is also an experienced midwife) for other mothers. It oozes warm fuzzies, exudes realism in every paragraph and is refreshing in its guiltless honesty. Modern first-time mothers are often alone - devoid of once-traditional motherhood knowledge and practical support. Often previously self-confident women find themselves isolated, fumbling over everyday mothering tasks, enduring sleep deprivation, feeling desperately despondent - and aching and leaking everywhere. This book provides supportive, caring advice - one mum to another - while at the same time serving as an encyclopaedic medical reference regarding the mother and baby. Checked thoroughly by medical professionals, this book is a unique blend, like having access to a kind and gentle GP as well as to all the gems of wisdom of years of mothers' coffee groups. This title clearly and compassionately explains the ups as well as the downs which are perfectly normal aspects of giving birth and mothering in today's society.

Spirit-Led Parenting
Author: Laura Oyer
Publisher:
ISBN: 9780615619200
Category : Family & Relationships
Languages : en
Pages : 230
Book Description
Spirit-Led Parenting Over the years, a mainstream approach to Christian parenting has emerged, and it's one that promotes sleep training and feeding schedules for infants, warns that spoiled children and marital discord are certain by-products of homes where newborns are over-indulged, and promotes these methods as the Biblical way to care for a new baby. Unfortunately, the message of mainstream parenting advice preys on the universal fear of new parents everywhere: the fear that if they stray from the program, their babies and their marriages will suffer. In Spirit-Led Parenting: From Fear to Freedom in Baby's First Year, two mothers share their stories. They tell of a journey that began in fear-soaked, tear-stained days marked by an overwhelming fear of failure that eventually found redemption in discovering the freedom to ignore the wisdom of man and follow the direction of the Spirit. · This gentle path looks toward the example of God the Father, seeks after Christ's unequivocal call to servanthood, and leans upon the wisdom of the Holy Spirit in determining and meeting the individual needs of each unique child. · Spirit-Led Parenting doesn't encourage a methodology, but rather a mindset. This outlook on parenting is radically different from what has become the trend in Christian circles, and yet the authors believe that it is firmly rooted in and supported by Scripture. · Throughout the book, the authors show how parenting with a spirit-led approach has allowed them to become more peaceful, happy mothers, more intimately connected to their husbands, and closer and more surrendered to Christ. Sharing from their unique experiences as well as their shared philosophy, Megan and Laura play the role of big sisters, wrapping their arms around the shoulder of the new mother trying to navigate the confusing world of life with a baby and answering those important questions: "What if the 'right' way doesn't feel 'right'?" and "Could there be more than one way to honor God as I care for my baby?" There is another way. That's what they wish they had been told as new mothers. And it's the message they are passionate about sharing with new parents everywhere.

The Contemporaneous India
Author: Sat Sharma
Publisher: Xlibris Corporation
ISBN: 1664103260
Category : Political Science
Languages : en
Pages : 717
Book Description
India is a lumbering, elephantine State that cannot be expected to pivot around its heels, irrespective of the capability, intentions and skills of its present mahout. That may explain why it took 67 long years to resurrect prime minister-ship by electing for the first time a deserving astute down to earth eminently-suited politician who had tasted poverty and hard work and seems to be the one to relate to citizens’ aspirations and needs. He possesses vision and necessary will to transform a fledgling country into a mega economy and world power. Narendra Modi, as a truly nationalistic politician, may be taller than Nehru. He became the first ever PM to visit INA Memorial in Singapore. And the first Indian in four centuries to inspect a ‘Guard of Honor’ from the British Army in London! However, thanks to Congress party’s dirty politics, he inherited a deeply divisive polity, rusted three pillars of democracy muddled with long-nurtured anti-nationalistic media. Modi earned kudos whichever nation he visited. His maiden American trip four months after taking over was a raving success hitherto not achieved by any of his predecessors that included three trips each by Nehru and Indira and double that number by Modi’s incompetent and ineffectual immediate predecessor – a puppet in the hands of his Italy-born white Catholic lady boss! During the 18 months, Modi has been showing promise by undoubtedly raising the stature of the country globally. Back home, deeply and widely pervading corruption, divisiveness, illiteracy and lack of nationalism are sinister and life-threatening ailments needing drastic cure. We are corrupt and, therefore, elect corrupt politicians. The latest is Bihar's humongous mandate on communal lines: First-time MLA sons of a convicted (for corruption) politician become ministers – the ninth class-fail deputy CM and 12th class as health minister. Till the time we become dutiful, nationalistic and sincere the status quo is not going to change. We must ‘educate’ our masses in general but our youngsters who are the future custodians of the country in particular but not up to the mark in many ways. The generations born after independence have to understand the true account/value of the hard-won freedom and imbibe our civilization and culture. Only then the misconceptions on created ‘fictional’ heroes can be rectified. Only then our younger folks can appreciate the importance of their duties to their motherland. Our politicians must become Hindustanis first and foremost, start working for the benefit of their compatriots rather their own families. They must forthwith stop eschew vote-bank politics. Only when all of us are patriotic enough we can offer a united front against biggest threat to us from terrorism incited and inflicted by Pakistan for decades; aided and abetted by so many anti-nationalistic political parties who also will have to mend their nasty ways and allow the parliament to function smoothly so that agenda on economic reforms can move forward. All of us have to contribute whole-heartedly for progress and development. Every citizen irrespective of caste/creed must exhibit an apparent firm and free will to work towards the betterment of the land. We must weed out the mindset where people live here but their loyalty lies elsewhere as dictated by the leaders of their faith. No religious law can take priority over the national law. There has to be common civil code so that everyone is treated equally. The way things stand today, we are only going down and down. This will continue unless we correct our mindset and course radically! Hindus’ extreme tolerance during last millennium led to rise of intolerant Islam aided and abetted by Congress and its cronies and like-minded parties. Hindustan has been looted and marauded by foreigners and bled high and dry of its richness and natural resources. Alas! This loot continued after independence by parties in power. Modi has somehow disturbed the looters’ political thought process by challenging it with their ideology and hence has been declared 'Intolerable' since they see no future if Modi continues the good work for his motherland. I do hope that our people wake unitedly to become truly democratically independent nation. Our paid, purchased and partisan media will have to become neutral, non-biased and nationalistic. If not contained, our electronic media, left liberals and pseudo-seculars wil ruin the country. The anti-nationalistic politicians must shun their derogatory practices of belittling the country in every forum and seriously consider their duty and debt to their motherland as their primary function. Otherwise, we are not far from our doomsday. Thus it is now or never for us Hindustanis to rise and stand erect steadfast!

The Triumph to Greatness
Author: Chi Sun Rhee
Publisher: First Edition Design Pub.
ISBN: 1622873165
Category : Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 193
Book Description
Chi Sun Rhee’s work of four volumes, The Phantom of Greatness, is a masterpiece of twentieth century epic fiction. It consists of Book One (The Phantom of Greatness), Book Two (The Way to Greatness), Book Three (The Devastation to Greatness), and Book Four (The Triumph to Greatness). The story of the forth volume, The Triumph to Greatness, occurs in America. In her work, three surviving main characters came from Korea after long struggles under the Japanese colony, WWII, and the Korean War. Byunghong, to pursue his statesman’s career, comes to the University of Toledo for his master’s degree in political science. After attaining his M.A. degree, he is going to return to Korea next day. He is in a department store in downtown Toledo and stumbles across Mija, who has been his undying love and thought to be dead six years ago. Of her own volition, Mija agrees to marry Byunghong in three weeks. One day Byunghong goes to the University of Michigan library to collect Asian materials to help the chairman of the political science department. There he unexpectedly has an encounter with Oda Ichiro. Ichiro says he is still living alone without marrying again, thinking of his dead Mija, leaving in his will to bury his body with his wife; now he is working harder than before to give tribute to his wife through his works of research. Byunghong is appalled at hearing of Ichiro’s statement of his immutable love for Mija. Even though Byunghong has every right to marry Mija, he has perfected his sublime love for her as a human being, and giving more than a being can ever possibly give, delivers Mija to her husband’s arms. Mija and Ilyoung reunite with Ichiro. They have fulfilled their dream and greatness: Mija completes her books; Ichiro’s nuclear theory has been expanding triumphantly. Sarah is born. Four years later, the terminal cancer brings Mija to the end stage of life. Giving her crying son the definition of what is greatness, Mija comforts her son, saying that death is another form of life. She adds: “You have your daddy with you and Sarah; he will do all the things to make you great.” The love and greatness between Ichiro and Mija is tightly sealed as a single entity—inseparable. It is supreme love and conviction to greatness beyond the pale of the mortal. Author Chi Sun Rhee is a retired gynecologist/obstetrician. She is the mother of two sons and a daughter and is the author of several acclaimed novels. Her desire to write this unusual history of Korea in a four-part series of books, is a dream she has had for several years. A resident of Toledo Ohio, where she resides with her husband, John, she pursues gardening as her primary avocation. keywords: Korea, History, Culture, Japanese, Invasion, Romance, Fiction, Documentary, Struggle, Education, Family, Youth, War, Korean War
