Man, as social being is ingrained with the faculty of moral understanding that enables him to live harmoniously with each other in the society. Development of morality which involves ability to make moral judgements is one of the most vital psychological events in the process of social development of an individual. In course of the life span development, the experiences of a child with his/her family, peers and other adults, influence his/her moral development substantially in coordination with the physical, cognitive, emotional and social skills that matures with time. Moral Competence is the skill to do the right thing or it is the ability to consistently behave according to the accepted ethical principles. It involves an array of moral traits which is shaped by multiple factors. One of the major determinants of moral competence is the 'Values' that includes the personal values and the cultural value system governing the individual. Values enable people to select and justify actions, to evaluate events and people including the self. Personal values are inherent in the individual and the cultural value system is the set of principles whereby conduct is directed and regulated, providing guidelines both for individuals and the social groups. Human behaviour and actions are guided by the relative importance of a set of relevant values and most human attitudes and behaviour are guided by multiple values. This study was conducted to explore the relationship between Universal Psychological Values and Moral Competence in a global sample of 331 males and 645 females totalling 976. The mean age of the sample is 35.82 with a standard deviation of 13.63. Analysis of the results of the study revealed significant relationship between Psychological Values and Moral Competence.
