Book Description
This document is a guidebook to collecting software engineering data on software development and maintenance efforts, as practiced in the Software Engineering Laboratory (SEL). It supersedes the document entitled Data Collection Procedures for the Rehosted SEL Database, number SEL-87-008 in the SEL series, which was published in October 1987. It presents procedures to be followed on software development and maintenance projects in the Flight Dynamics Division (FDD) of Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) for collecting data in support of SEL software engineering research activities. These procedures include detailed instructions for the completion and submission of SEL data collection forms. Repository-Based Software Engineering Program

Repository-Based Software Engineering Program PDF Author: National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)

Book Description
Repository-Based Software Engineering Program (RBSE) is a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) sponsored program dedicated to introducing and supporting common, effective approaches to software engineering practices. The process of conceiving, designing, building, and maintaining software systems by using existing software assets that are stored in a specialized operational reuse library or repository, accessible to system designers, is the foundation of the program. In addition to operating a software repository, RBSE promotes (1) software engineering technology transfer, (2) academic and instructional support of reuse programs, (3) the use of common software engineering standards and practices, (4) software reuse technology research, and (5) interoperability between reuse libraries. This Program Management Plan (PMP) is intended to communicate program goals and objectives, describe major work areas, and define a management report and control process. This process will assist the Program Manager, University of Houston at Clear Lake (UHCL) in tracking work progress and describing major program activities to NASA management. The goal of this PMP is to make managing the RBSE program a relatively easy process that improves the work of all team members. The PMP describes work areas addressed and work efforts being accomplished by the program; however, it is not intended as a complete description of the program. Its focus is on providing management tools and management processes for monitoring, evaluating, and administering the program; and it includes schedules for charting milestones and deliveries of program products. The PMP was developed by soliciting and obtaining guidance from appropriate program participants, analyzing program management guidance, and reviewing related program management documents. Category : Software engineering

Pages : 333

Book Description
The workshop aims to bring together NASA technical staff, contractors, academics and industrial practitioners interested in the advancement of software engineering principles and techniques. The workshop provides a forum for reporting on past experiences for describing new and emerging results and techniques, and for exchanging ideas on best practice and future directions. Of particular importance is relevance to NASA's mission and goals, and how techniques might be applied, or adapted for use, at NASA, or how NASA's techniques might be used or adapted for more generic use. This SEW 2005 proceedings includes revised versions of peer-reviewed papers covering topics such as metrics and experience reports, software quality assurance, formal methods and formal approaches to software development, software engineering processes and process improvement, CMM and CMMI, requirements engineering, software Architectures, real-time Software Engineering, software maintenance, reuse, and legacy systems, and agent-based software systems.

Software Engineering - ESEC/FSE '99

Software Engineering - ESEC/FSE '99 PDF Author: Oskar Nierstrasz
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 9783540665380
Category : Computers
Languages : en
Pages : 548

Book Description
For the second time, the European Software Engineering Conference is being held jointly with the ACM SIGSOFT Symposium on the Foundations of Software Engine- ing (FSE). Although the two conferences have different origins and traditions, there is a significant overlap in intent and subject matter. Holding the conferences jointly when they are held in Europe helps to make these thematic links more explicit, and enco- ages researchers and practitioners to attend and submit papers to both events. The ESEC proceedings have traditionally been published by Springer-Verlag, as they are again this year, but by special arrangement, the proceedings will be distributed to members of ACM SIGSOFT, as is usually the case for FSE. ESEC/FSE is being held as a single event, rather than as a pair of collocated events. Submitted papers were therefore evaluated by a single program committee. ESEC/FSE represents a broad range of software engineering topics in (mainly) two continents, and consequently the program committee members were selected to represent a spectrum of both traditional and emerging software engineering topics. A total of 141 papers were submitted from around the globe. Of these, nearly half were classified as research - pers, aquarterasexperiencepapers, andtherestasbothresearchandexperiencepapers. Twenty-nine papers from five continents were selected for presentation and inclusion in the proceedings. Due to the large number of industrial experience reports submitted, we have also introduced this year two sessions on short case study presentations.
