Book Description
Welcome to Camp Shalom, a Jewish sleepaway camp that offers adventure and friendship! But when mysterious events start occurring, the campers will need to use their brains and work together-with some occasional sneaking around-to figure out what's really going on. Maya can't deny that she's nervous on the first day at Camp Shalom. She's never been to sleepaway camp before, she doesn't like insects and heat, and worst of all, she's afraid of swimming after an upsetting experience back at home. Maya feels a lot better about Camp Shalom after meeting friendly Dani, but she's not so sure about bossy Yael. When someone steals the special items their cabin needs to lead Shabbat, Maya and Dani do some sleuthing. They're no closer to catching the thief when Dani discovers that she is being accused. Now Maya really has to find out who sabotaged Shabbat-or her best friend will be sent home from camp. Meanwhile, she still has to pass the camp swimming test or she won't be able to go on the sleepover to Snake Island. Maya has a busy summer ahead, but with Dani's help-and maybe even Yael's-she will find out that honesty and the support of her friends can solve almost every problem.

Why was the State of Israel 'Really' Established?

Why was the State of Israel 'Really' Established? PDF Author: Erez Casif
Publisher: Cambridge Scholars Publishing
ISBN: 1443855634
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 195

Book Description
Most historians of Zionism – from the ‘Jerusalem School’ and its followers, as well as those who call themselves ‘new historians’ – understand the story of Israel’s establishment as a part of a broader historic story that encompasses hundreds and even thousands of years. They consider the Zionist leadership to be a unified entity and thus relate the decision to establish the state of Israel during May 1948 to international, rather than internal, restraints and challenges. The author of this book suggests a different theoretical approach – as an alternative to the above – that considers the struggle to establish a Jewish state much more as a struggle for power within the future state, whose imminent establishment was more or less certain. This point of view provides new insights into important historic events such as the ‘rebellion’ of NMO head Menaahem Begin; the ‘Saison’; the cooperation between Zionist underground movements from the fall of 1945 through to the summer of 1946; the explosion at the King David Hotel in July 1946; the first stage of the War of Independence; and the foundation of ‘The People’s Committee’ in April 1948 and its declaration of the establishment of an independent Jewish state during May 1948.

"Let El Elohe be true, but every man a liar" (Romans 3:4). Target Tehran

Target Tehran PDF Author: Yonah Jeremy Bob
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
ISBN: 1668014564
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 368

Book Description
The remarkable story of how Israel used sabotage, assassination, cyberwar--and diplomacy--to thwart Iran's development of nuclear weapons, in the process forging a new Middle East by uniting with Sunni Arab nations to stop their common enemy. Authors Bob and Evyatar describe how Israel has used cyberwarfare, targeted assassinations, and sabotage of Iranian facilities to great effect, sometimes in cooperation with the United States. In doing so Israel has managed to transform the politics of the Middle East, culminating in the Abraham Accords of 2020. No longer do Arab states such as Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and, most importantly, Saudi Arabia, insist on a solution to the Palestinian problem before cooperating with Israel. Now, united in their opposition to Iran, which has funded and even trained Shi'a terrorists, Israel and these Arab states are cooperating as Israel undermines Iran's nuclear program. Bob and Evyatar reveal how Israel has used documents secretly stolen from Tehran to show the United States and the International Atomic Energy Agency how Iran has repeatedly violated the 2015 JCPOA nuclear agreement and lied about its nuclear weapons program. Drawing from interviews with confidential sources in Mossad, Israel's equivalent to the CIA, the authors tell the inside story of the tumultuous, and often bloody, history of how Israel has managed to outmaneuver Iran--so far.
