A graduate of the College in the Class of 1872, Mr. Lewis was one of the most prominent bankers of the State - 'generous, kind, and lovable. In many circles he will be greatly missed but nowhere more than at Bowdoin, for his fellow trustees had relied greatly on his sound judgment and on his devotion to the College.
