Book Description
Before the foundation of the world, God knew even the end of mankind. For our understanding, God unveils Scriptures, which provide those illustrations that, in particular, give us insight as to the details of future events as forecasted in the Scriptures. Those forecasts are precise models of future events to be experienced in this world as though God had choreographed them for us to observe the times and seasons as a play rehearsed and to be unfolded in the future of mankind. God is the Author of the Holy Scriptures that are, for us, a reference of a precisely dictated order of events of this world that are orchestrated, by Himself, for His Glory. Accordingly, the final act of this play is, also, provided for us to understand the last seven years of the history of mankind. That seven-year period, of the tribulation, is one such future event for which God has provided specific Rehearsals for Judgment. Dr. Stuart McCutcheon has been Pastor of Church on the Rock Assembly since Easter 2002. As pastor, Dr. McCutcheon recommends all to follow his "3 spiritual R's" "READ, READ, READ the Scriptures and Study." Accordingly, his teaching and preaching reflects his desire to bring only the unadulterated Word of God. Stuart McCutcheon was saved, by God's grace, at age 35 while in Waxahachie, Texas. In January 1987, he joined Heritage Baptist Church and was baptized on Palm Sunday later that year. After reading the Bible and studying extensively, he delivered his first sermon there on January 10, 1988. God moved Stuart and his wife, Jami, and family to Florida in 1988. He is blessed with seven children along with many grandchildren. Dr. McCutcheon holds the following degrees: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Master of Theology in Biblical Studies, and Doctor of Theology.

Staged

Staged PDF Author: Minou Arjomand
Publisher: Columbia University Press
ISBN: 0231545738
Category : Philosophy

Pages : 256

Book Description
Theater requires artifice, justice demands truth. Are these demands as irreconcilable as the pejorative term “show trials” suggests? After the Second World War, canonical directors and playwrights sought to claim a new public role for theater by restaging the era’s great trials as shows. The Nuremberg trials, the Eichmann trial, and the Auschwitz trials were all performed multiple times, first in courts and then in theaters. Does justice require both courtrooms and stages? In Staged, Minou Arjomand draws on a rich archive of postwar German and American rehearsals and performances to reveal how theater can become a place for forms of storytelling and judgment that are inadmissible in a court of law but indispensable for public life. She unveils the affinities between dramatists like Bertolt Brecht, Erwin Piscator, and Peter Weiss and philosophers such as Hannah Arendt and Walter Benjamin, showing how they responded to the rise of fascism with a new politics of performance. Linking performance with theories of aesthetics, history, and politics, Arjomand argues that it is not subject matter that makes theater political but rather the act of judging a performance in the company of others. Staged weaves together theater history and political philosophy into a powerful and timely case for the importance of theaters as public institutions.
