The proposed action area encompasses 40,320 acres, of which 14,731 acres are Federal mineral resource lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM),El Centro Field Office. The FEIS identifies impacts that would potentially result from the leasing of the geothermal energy resources, including impacts on the flat tailed horned lizard, cultural resources, off-highway vehicle recreation, and other sensitive resource values.
