La prise en charge des femmes enceintes présentant un diabète gestationnel repose sur un accompagnement spécifique intégrant des professionnels de santé spécialisés (diabétologues, infirmiers et diététiciens). Se pose alors la question de la place du pharmacien d'officine dans ce parcours de soins. Des entretiens semi-directifs ont été réalisés auprès de pharmaciens d'officine afin de recueillir leurs avis sur leurs rôles dans ce parcours. Des professionnels d'une équipe d'ETP ainsi que des coordonnateurs de programmes d'ETP ont été sollicités afin de comparer leurs points de vue avec ceux des pharmaciens. On remarque que le pharmacien est absent de cet accompagnement éducatif spécifique, l'apprentissage de l'autosurveillance glycémique et de la pratique de l'insulinothérapie ayant été confié à des infirmiers spécialisés. Ne rencontrant que peu de patientes présentant un diabète gestationnel, le pharmacien d'officine manque de compétences pratiques et de connaissances sur les spécificités de ce diabète. Les autres professionnels de santé ne perçoivent pas l'intérêt d'impliquer les pharmaciens d'officine qui, eux-mêmes, ont du mal à se positionner et à voir quelle plus-value il pourrait apporter dans ce parcours de soins dont ils connaissent peu les modalités d'organisation et les contenus des interventions. Sa place comme relais ambulatoire des équipes hospitalières peut pourtant se justifier par son statut de professionnel de proximité facilement accessible et disponible, mais aussi par sa légitimité en tant qu'expert du médicament et des produits de santé. Il existe un réel besoin de communication entre les différents professionnels de santé et d'une définition précise des missions du pharmacien afin de pouvoir convaincre les autres professionnels d'intégrer les pharmaciens dans cette collaboration interprofessionnelle qui répond à priori déjà aux besoins des patientes. De plus, il est nécessaire d'envisager des modalités des formations et d'entraînements pratiques pluriprofessionnels permettant aux pharmaciens de mieux connaitre ce parcours de soins et permettant une harmonisation indispensable des discours délivrés aux patientes.
