Includes questions put forward by Tony Dalton and Michael Hamel-Green for Questions on Notice to be asked by Gordon Bryant and J.L. Cavanagh, Department of Labour and National Service statistics from across Australia relating to failure to register for National Service, a letter from Gough Whitlam to Tony Dalton in response to the policy statement of the Draft Resisters' Union, statistics of prosecutions for failure to register and failure to attend medical examination, a statement undersigned by a list of draft resisters addressing selective prosecutions under the National Service Act, refusal to comply with the Act and a declaration of opposition to Australian and US involvement in Vietnam, an excerpt from Hansard on 20 April, 1939 where Robert Menzies addresses the attack brought against him by caretaker Prime Minister Earle Page regarding his decision not to serve during WW1. This excerpt is referred to by Jim Cairns and Tom Uren in the Hansard for 17 November, 1964. Also includes a letter written to the Public Service Board on behalf of Tony Dalton requesting a more detailed explanation as to why he was dismissed from the State Rivers & Water Supply Commission, an article from the Age featuring an interview with Gough Whitlam and Lance Barnard relating to proposed government action to abolish conscription and release jailed draft resisters and a copy of William McMahon's written statement outling the government's position of items of concern to Commonwealth employees requested by the Federal Secretary of the Council of Commonwealth Public Service Organisations.
