Excerpt from Outlines for Secondary Courses in Agriculture In pursuance of a resolution of the High School Board adopted at the annual meeting in August, 1911, the Superintendent of Public Instruction issued a call for a conference of the superintendents and instructors in high and graded schools which at that time maintained special departments in agriculture. Every such school was represented by its superintendent and agricultural director, and a number by one or more members of the School Board. At the close of the two days' session the State Superintendent was directed to appoint a committee of seven members, to prepare suggested courses of study in agriculture to be followed by the schools receiving state aid for industrial work. The members of this committee have been engaged in preparing such courses and outlines, and their report, is herewith submitted. The committee offers several alternative courses, rather than one summarized course. The report is the result of careful and diligent study and will prove of value as a guide and a basis for the varied lines which the teaching of agriculture in the public schools is assuming.
