Book Description
This book has been prepared to guide online group therapy applications that have gained momentum due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Acting with the knowledge that surely online group therapies are not to here to replace group therapies in face-to-face settings; and inspired by Jacob Levy Moreno, we have compiled this book trusting in group thera- pists’ ability in times of crisis to mobilize their creativ- ity and spontaneity for the benefit of society. One of the main goals of this book is to think to- gether with our colleagues on how the depth and au- thentic encounters captured in the group circle can be rendered possible in environments limited to screens. A related goal is to create a framework for ethical principles and to adapt the basic principles and sensi- tivities of group therapies to online settings. We hope that online group therapies can help us to work on the common processes we are experiencing, to find healing within the group, and to remind us that we are part of a whole enriched with social relationships. To be or not to be! We need to acknowledge the existence of this method which functions, responds to needs and carries the spirit of unity and togetherness in addition and beyond soli- darity. We will seek to adapt and survive by taking up cues from this guidebook, reconciling our own terms with the terms of this method.

Category : Psychology
Languages : en
Pages : 389

Book Description
The Handbook of Art Therapy has become the standard introductory text into the theory and practice of art therapy in a variety of settings. This comprehensive book concentrates on the work of art therapists: what they do, where they practice, and how and why art and therapy can combine to help the search for health and understanding of underlying problems. In this third edition, new developments in the profession are clearly described, including sections on neuroscience, research, private practice and the impact of technology on the therapeutic setting. Caroline Case and Tessa Dalley are highly experienced in the teaching, supervision and clinical practice of art therapy. Using first-hand accounts of the experience of art therapy from therapists and patients, they cover such aspects as the influence of psychodynamic thinking, the role of the image in the art process and the setting in which the art therapist works. The Handbook of Art Therapy also focuses on art therapists themselves, and their practice, background and training. The book includes an extensive bibliography, encompassing a comprehensive coverage of the current literature on art therapy and related subjects, and contains a glossary of psychoanalytic terms. Covering basic theory and practice for clinicians and students at all levels of training, this is a key text for art therapists, counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists and students at all levels, as well as professionals working in other arts therapies.

Ethical Principles in Psychology

Ethical Principles in Psychology PDF Author: St. Clements University - Türkiye
Publisher: Prof. Dr. Bilal Semih Bozdemir
ISBN:
Category : Psychology
Languages : en
Pages : 513

Book Description
Moreover, as the landscape of psychological practice continues to evolve, new challenges and considerations arise. The integration of technology in therapy, the growing emphasis on cultural competence, and the increasing recognition of diversity highlight the need for psychologists to continually reassess their adherence to and understanding of fidelity and responsibility. The implications of these developments necessitate a proactive approach to ethical practice, inviting psychologists to engage in ongoing education and reflection. Furthermore, the intersectionality of various aspects of identity—such as race, gender, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status—adds additional layers of complexity to the obligations of fidelity and responsibility. Psychologists must remain vigilant in recognizing how these dimensions impact their clients’ experiences and their own roles as practitioners. This awareness is crucial not only for enhancing the therapeutic alliance but also for safeguarding against potential ethical violations that may arise from unexamined biases or assumptions.

Occupational Therapy Practice Framework: Domain and Process

Occupational Therapy Practice Framework: Domain and Process PDF Author: Aota
Publisher: AOTA Press
ISBN: 9781569003619
Category : Medical
Languages : en
Pages : 51

Book Description
As occupational therapy celebrates its centennial in 2017, attention returns to the profession's founding belief in the value of therapeutic occupations as a way to remediate illness and maintain health. The founders emphasized the importance of establishing a therapeutic relationship with each client and designing an intervention plan based on the knowledge about a client's context and environment, values, goals, and needs. Using today's lexicon, the profession's founders proposed a vision for the profession that was occupation based, client centered, and evidence based--the vision articulated in the third edition of the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework: Domain and Process. The Framework is a must-have official document from the American Occupational Therapy Association. Intended for occupational therapy practitioners and students, other health care professionals, educators, researchers, payers, and consumers, the Framework summarizes the interrelated constructs that describe occupational therapy practice. In addition to the creation of a new preface to set the tone for the work, this new edition includes the following highlights: a redefinition of the overarching statement describing occupational therapy's domain; a new definition of clients that includes persons, groups, and populations; further delineation of the profession's relationship to organizations; inclusion of activity demands as part of the process; and even more up-to-date analysis and guidance for today's occupational therapy practitioners. Achieving health, well-being, and participation in life through engagement in occupation is the overarching statement that describes the domain and process of occupational therapy in the fullest sense. The Framework can provide the structure and guidance that practitioners can use to meet this important goal.

Category : Psychology
Languages : en
Pages : 304

Book Description
How do the good become great? Practice! From musicians and executives to physicians and drivers, aspiring professionals rely on deliberate practice to attain expertise. Recently, researchers have explored how psychotherapists can use the same processes to enhance the effectiveness of psychotherapy supervision for career-long professional development. Based on this empirical research, this edited volume brings together leading supervisors and researchers to explore a model for supervision based on behavioral rehearsal with continuous corrective feedback. Demonstrating how this model complements and enhances a traditional, theory-based approach, the authors explore practical methods that readers can use to improve the effectiveness of their own psychotherapy training and supervision. This book is the 2018 Winner of the American Psychological Association Supervision & Training Section's Outstanding Publication of the Year Award.
