Book Description
We review a relativistic approach to the heavy quark physics in lattice QCD by applying a relativistic O(a) improvement to the massive Wilson quark action on the lattice. After explaining how power corrections of m{sub Q}a can be avoided and remaining uncertainties are reduced to be of order (a[Lambda]{sub QCD})2, we demonstrate a determination of four improvement coefficients in the action up to one-loop level in a mass dependent way. We also show a perturbative determination of mass dependent renormalization factors and O(a) improvement coefficients for the vector and axial vector currents. Some preliminary results of numerical simulations are also presented.

Author: Siegfried Wagner
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 3540266577
Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 469
Book Description
Leading-edge research groups in the field of scientific computing present their outstanding projects using the High Performance Computer in Bavaria (HLRB), Hitachi SR8000-F1, one of the top-level supercomputers for academic research in Germany. The projects address modelling and simulation in the disciplines Biosciences, Chemistry, Chemical Physics, Solid-State Physics, High-Energy Physics, Astrophysics, Geophysics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and Computer Science. The authors describe their scientific background, their resource requirements with respect to top-level supercomputers, and their methods for efficient utilization of the costly high-performance computing power. Contributions of interdisciplinary research projects that have been supported by the Competence Network for Scientific High Performance Computing in Bavaria (KONWIHR) complete the broad range of supercomputer research and applications covered by this volume.

Nonperturbative Methods In Quantum Field Theory - Proceedings Of The Workshop
Author: Andreas W Schreiber
Publisher: World Scientific
ISBN: 9814544256
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 348
Book Description
This book contains the proceedings of the Workshop on Nonperturbative Methods in Quantum Field Theory, held in Adelaide, Australia, in February 1998. Lattice gauge theory and calculations based on the use of Schwinger-Dyson equations feature prominently, with further contributions in the areas of variational and functional techniques, strong interaction phenomenology and chiral perturbation theory. QCD in the infrared regime as well as QCD at finite temperatures and densities is the subject matter of a number of papers, while other authors explore chiral symmetry breaking in QCD as well as in other field theories.
