Conceived as the meanings that individuals attach to their selves, a substantial stockpile of theory related to identities accumulated across the arts, social sciences, and humanities over many decades continues to nourish contemporary research on self-identities in organizations. In times which are more reflexive, narcissistic, and fluid, the identities of participants in organizations are increasingly less fixed and less certain, making identity issues both more salient and more interesting. Particular attention has been given to processes of identity construction, often styled 'identity work'. Without warning, Annett decided to become a nun. Her dispute with the church involved asking too many questions which was forbidden by the vows taken at the beginning of her religious experience. Being very young and beautiful, upon arrival in Ecuador, she could not understand why there was so much poverty in this country when the Church was financially sound. The storyline captivates her innocence and desire to convince the Cardinal, Bishop, and Mother Superior to use Church funds in the education of the Ecuadorian population. This would entail reading and writing, establishing small businesses to feed their families, and, in return, generating financial support for the Church. That suggestion fell on deaf ears. In the story, the three nuns, and priest, act as missionaries in the jungles of the Republic. The book’s adventure, for the most part, is a reflection of myself as the author. They encounter natives, both peaceful and hostile, including discovering a lost tribe of the Peruvian Inca. I invite the reader to sit back, relax, and enjoy reading this exceptional experience about an insight into life.
