Book Description
This Letter describes the current most precise measurement of the W boson pair production cross section and most sensitive test of anomalous WW[gamma] and WWZ couplings in p{bar p} collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The WW candidates are reconstructed from decays containing two charged leptons and two neutrinos, where the charged leptons are either electrons or muons. Using data collected by the CDF II detector from 3.6 fb−1 of integrated luminosity, a total of 654 candidate events are observed with an expected background contribution of 320 ± 47 events. The measured total cross section is [sigma](p{bar p} 2!WW− + X) = 12.1 ± 0.9 (stat){sub -1.4}{sup +1.6} (syst) pb, which is in good agreement with the standard model prediction. The same data sample is used to place constraints on anomalous WW[gamma] and WWZ couplings.

Book Description
The cross section for WW production is measured and limits on anomalous WW[gamma] and WWZ trilinear gauge couplings are set using WW → ee/e[mu]/[mu][mu] events collected by the Run II D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider corresponding to 1 fb−1 of integrated luminosity at √s = 1.96 TeV. Across the three final states, 108 candidate events are observed with 40.8 ± 3.8 total background expected, consistent with [sigma](p{bar p} → WW) = 11.6 ± 1.8(stat) ± 0.7(syst) ± 0.7(lumi) pb. Using a set of SU(2){sub L} {direct_product} U(1){sub Y} conserving constraints, the one-dimensional 95% C.L. limits on trilinear gauge couplings are -0.63

Book Description
This Letter describes the current most precise measurement of the WZ production cross section as well as limits on anomalous WWZ couplings at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV in proton-antiproton collisions. The WZ candidates are reconstructed from decays containing three charged leptons and missing energy from a neutrino, where the charged leptons are either electrons or muons. Using data collected by the CDF II detector (7.1 fb−1 of integrated luminosity), 64 candidate events are observed with the expected background contributing 8 ± 1 events. The measured total cross section?(p{bar p} → WZ) = 3.93{sub -0.53}{sup +0.60}(stat){sub -0.46}{sup +0.59}(syst) pb is in good agreement with the standard model prediction of 3.50 ± 0.21. The same sample is used to set limits on anomalous WWZ couplings.

Book Description
We present a preliminary result from a search for anomalous WW and WZ production in p[bar p] collisions at[radical]s= 1.8 TeV using p[bar p][yields] e[nu]jj events observed during the 1992-1993 run of the Fermilab Tevatron collider. A fit to the p[sub T] spectrum of W(e[nu]) yields direct limits on the CP-conserving anomalous WW[gamma] and WWZ coupling parameters of -0.89

Book Description
I present a measurement of the W±Z production cross section in the leptonic final states in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV and limits on anomalous trilinear gauge couplings, using 4.64 fb-1 of data collected using the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. The production cross section has been determined to be 19.0+1.4-1.3(stat.)±0.9(syst.)±0.4(lumi.) pb, in agreement with the Standard Model (SM) expectation of 17.6+1.1-1.0 pb. A search for anomalous trilinear gauge couplings has been conducted and limits have been set at the 95% confidence level; the result is consistent with the SM couplings.

Book Description
A measurement of W-gamma and Z-gamma production in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV is presented. Results are based on a data sample recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36 inverse picobarns. The electron and muon decay channels of the W and Z are used. The total cross sections are measured for photon transverse energy>10 GeV and spatial separation from charged leptons in the plane of pseudorapidity and azimuthal angle>0.7, and with an additional dilepton invariant mass requirement of> 50 GeV for the Z-gamma process. The following cross section times branching fraction values are found: sigma(pp to W-gamma+X) B(W to lepton neutrino) = 56.3 +/- 5.0 (stat.) +/- 5.0 (syst.) +/- 2.3 (lumi.) pb and sigma(pp to Z-gamma+X) B}(Z to lepton lepton) = 9.4 +/- 1.0 (stat.) +/- 0.6 (syst.) +/- 0.4 (lumi.) pb. These measurements are in agreement with standard model predictions. The first limits on anomalous WW gamma, ZZ gamma, and Z gamma gamma trilinear gauge couplings at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV are set.

Book Description
The[ital WW][gamma] and[ital WWZ] gauge boson couplings have been studied through the direct observation of diboson final states produced in[ital p][ital[anti p]] collisions at[radical]s= 1.8 TeV. The total cross section for[ital W][sub[gamma]] final states, for photons with[ital p][sub T][sup[gamma]][gt] 10 GeV/c and[ital R][sub[ital l][gamma]][gt] 0.7, times branching ratio of[ital W] bosons to leptons, has been measured to be 12.10[sub -1.62][sup+1. 76][+-]1.72 pb, in agreement with the Standard Model expectation. An upper limit of 17 pb on the total[ital WW] cross section has been set. The analysis of[ital W][sub[gamma]] events has allowed us to set 95% confidence level (CL) limits on the anomalous[ital WW][sub[gamma]] coupling parameters of -0.96[lt][Delta][kappa][lt] 0.98 and -0.32[lt][lambda][lt] 0.30. this measurement excludes the U(1)[sub EM]- only coupling between the photon and the[ital W] boson at the 96% CL. Similar measurements of the coupling parameters have been performed using[ital WW] final states.

Book Description
This dissertation describes the first WW production cross-section measurement in 35.5 pb-1 of s = 7 TeV pp collision data recorded by the CMS detector. The ee, emu and mumu final states are considered. The event yields, expectations and systematic uncertainties arc presented, and the data-driven methods used to estimate the background and selection efficiency are discussed in detail. The cross-section is measured to be sigmaWW = 41.1 +/- 15.3(stat.) +/- 5.8(syst.) +/- 4.5(lumi.) pb. The same data is used to place constraints on anomalous WWgamma and WWZ couplings.

Book Description
The cross section for the production of Z[gamma] in proton-proton collisions at 8 TeV is measured based on data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.5 fb-1. Events with an oppositely-charged pair of muons or electrons together with an isolated photon are selected. Furthermore, the differential cross section as a function of the photon transverse momentum is measured inclusively and exclusively, where the exclusive selection applies a veto on central jets. These observed cross sections are compatible with the expectations of next-to-next-to-leading-order quantum chromodynamics. As a result, limits on anomalous triple gauge couplings of ZZ[gamma] and Z[gamma][gamma] are set that improve on previous experimental results obtained with the charged lepton decay modes of the Z boson.

Book Description
The results of a search for W boson pair production in p[bar p] collisions at[radical]s= 1.8 TeV with subsequent decay to dilepton (e[mu], ee, and[mu][mu]) channels are presented. One event is observed with an expected background of 0.56[plus-minus] 0.13 events with an integrated luminosity of approximately 14 pb[sup[minus]1]. Assuming equal strengths for the WWZ and WW[gamma] gauge boson coupling parameters[kappa] and[lambda], limits on the CP-conserving anomalous coupling constants are[minus]2.6
