Entomological Guide - Ephemeroptera Trichoptera Plecoptera
Author: Roberto Messori
Publisher: Fly Line di Roberto Messori
ISBN: 8889468157
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 141
Book Description
Three guides for the systematic diagnosis of the insects directly along the rivers and streams. For the first time, the fly-fishing world has a perfect tool available to identify in a few minutes, or instantly, the aquatic insects belonging to the orders of Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera and Trichoptera. The guides are intended primarily for fly fishermen and for scientists working in the qualification of rivers, such as hydrobiologists, veterinarians and ichthyologists, who must frequently improvise if they aren't doing so already, even entomologists. The work consists of three guides (Ephemeroptera, Trichoptera and Plecoptera) designed to systematically determine the insects of these three orders. The system uses dichotomous keys complemented with photographs and drawings of the described morphological details. These keys are enriched with additional explanations which are in turn illustrated to simplify identification. But that's not all: where possible, tracking systems of "extreme simplicity" have been developed, as in the separation of Trichoptera families that are immediately recognizable by the characteristics of the case, or from particular features of the larvae do not build cases. One chapter is devoted entirely to the relationship between the Latin and English names of insects: all the insects that have an English name are identified along with the imitations that represent them; this link is extended to all the European species that may be of interest to the fly fisherman. With this information, it will be easy to associate any insect with its correct pattern in the English literature.

Some of the techniques used are published here for the first time. The dressings included in the book are accompanied by 51 photographs of subimagos and imagos. French Fishing Flies
Author: Jean-Paul Pequegnot
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
ISBN: 1620873400
Category : Sports & Recreation
Languages : en
Pages : 115
Book Description
Cul de Canard (Duck’s Rump), Farefelue (The Crazy One), Plantureuse (Buxom Gal), Peute (The Ugly One)—the names are deliciously French but one would make a terrible mistake to think that only French-born trout like these fishing flies. “Design,” said Datus Proper, “is why this book has as much to do with the Henry’s Fork as with the Risle.” At least one of the flies introduced by French Fishing Flies more than twenty-five years ago, the Cul de Canard, has long since become a true staple in fly boxes around the world. Others will surely follow. This fascinating book is bound to be of great interest to fly fishermen everywhere.

Cdc Evolution
Author: Mauro Raspini
Publisher: Fly Line di Roberto Messori
ISBN: 8889468122
Category : Sports & Recreation
Languages : en
Pages : 225
Book Description
This book, for the flyfishermen and fly tyers, illustrates 49 incredibly effective models created using new tying techniques, new materials and most importantly the Cul de Canard, which is employed in the most sophisticated way. The models reworked are 49 of the strongest classic models. For every fly, a series of high-resolution photos illustrates each step of the tying process and accompanies the explanations. The Cul de Canard is introduced only where its characteristics are in harmony with the traditional model chosen. This is done to better the effectiveness of the model and its simplicity of use. Some models are exclusively in Cdc.
