Free Trade and Competition in the EEC
Author: Helen Papaconstantinou
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 1136084843
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 177
Book Description
This book examines the extent of free trade within the EEC and attempts to establish the conditions under which a State may operate in the Market through the medium of the undertakings which it controls. It discusses the ways in which Member States may tamper with free market forces without infringing the principle of free competition, and whether state liability can be established for such actions. It also assesses the separate liability of both public and private enterprises which operate under such a heavily state-regulated environment that a certain anti-competitive behaviour is virtually imposed upon them. The book concludes that the system as it operates is not as successful as it might be and that the Council of Ministers and the Commission should set guidelines for co-ordinated action in order to avoid national policies leading to a rejection of the free-market principle.

State and Enterprise
Author: Maria Rosaria Mauro
Publisher: Springer Nature
ISBN: 3031104730
Category : Law
Languages : en
Pages : 423
Book Description
This book addresses the regulation of the State/Enterprise relationship in the framework of international economic context. It analyzes this relationship from the discrete perspectives of conflict, cooperation, and integration in contributions by authors representing a diverse range of legal cultures and political backgrounds. The topic is investigated following three approaches: • State versus Enterprise (the State which bans, restricts, or regulates the activities of Enterprises, both domestic and foreign);• Enterprise versus State (the Enterprises, main actors of commercial, industrial or financial initiatives, which may directly or indirectly affect the legal and economic structure of the State);• State as Enterprise and Enterprise as State (public Enterprises under political control that pursue geopolitical goals, and Enterprises that rely on the political, financial, and strategic support of the State for their business expansion). Furthermore, the volume includes a special focus on the relationship State/Enterprise in non-capitalist economies (China, Russia, and Cuba).

Buttress’s World Guide to Abbreviations of Organizations
Author: Jean C. Swinbank
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 940112132X
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 1054
Book Description
This edition of over 60 000 entries, including significantly more than 20% new or revised material, not only updates its predecessor but also continues the policy of extending coverage to areas dealt with only sparsely in previous editions. Special attention has been paid to the Far East, Australasia and Latin America in general, and to the People's Republic of China in particular. The cross-referencing between a defunct organization and its successor (indicated by ex and now) introduced into the last edition, has been extended. Otherwise the policies adopted in previous editions have been retained. All kinds of organizations are included - international, national, governmental, individual, large or small - but strictly local organizations have been omitted. The subject scope includes activities of all kinds, in the fields of commerce and industry, education, law, politics, public administration, religion, recreation, medicine, science and technology. The country of origin of a national organization is given in brackets, unless it is the home country of the title language or can be deduced readily from the title itself. Acronyms of parent bodies of subsidiary organizations are also added in brackets. Equivalences are used to link acronyms in different languages for the same organization. A select bibliography guides the reader to specialist works providing more detailed information.
