La décision médicale en cancérologie a pour finalité de guérir le malade ou d'augmenter sa survie au moindre coût thérapeutique. La prise en charge multidisciplinaire répond à l'exigence d'efficacité par la présence en un même lieu des différents spécialistes et cette modalité décisionnelle a été formalisée par le Plan cancer dans la Réunion de concertation pluridisciplinaire (RCP). Nous avons évalué par l'observation des RCP, via un questionnaire auprès des médecins et des patients, la pratique de ces étapes décisionnelles et de l'annonce. La RCP apparaît comme un lieu de compétence, de rationalisation, de collégialité et de multidisciplinarité de la décision. Cette décision est aménagée au sein de la relation entre le médecin référent et le patient. L'impact de ce processus décisionnel sur les rôles du médecin référent et du patient, l'évaluation des qualités et des limites de la décision de la RCP, l'importance de chaque temps décisionnel sont les point abordés dans la discussion.

In early stages of cancer, patients are often presented with treatment options and encouraged to have shared treatment decisions with their oncologists. Shared decision making becomes particularly important, as several treatment options with different possible outcomes and adverse events exist.
