Book Description
Terjemahan Juz Amma Dari Kitab Suci Al-Quran (القرآن الكريم) Dalam Bahasa Inggris Edisi Berwarna Versi Ultimate. The main division of the Qur'an is into chapter (surah) and verse (ayat). The Quran is additionally divided into 30 equal sections, called juz' (plural: ajiza). The divisions of juz' do not fall evenly along chapter lines. These divisions make it easier to pace the reading over a month's period, reading a fairly equal amount each day. This is particularly important during the month of Ramadan, when it is recommended to complete at least one full reading of the Qur'an from cover to cover. The 30th juz' of the Quran includes the last 36 surahs (chapters) of the holy book, from the first verse of the 78th chapter (An-Nabaa 78:1) and continuing to the end of the Quran, or verse 6 of the 114th chapter (An-Nas 114:1). While this juz' contains a large number of complete chapters, the chapters themselves are quite short, ranging in length from 3-46 verses each. Most of the chapters in this juz' consist of fewer than 25 verses. "For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be gardens beneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. Truly strong is the grip of thy Lord. It is He who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore life. And He is the Oft-Forgiving, full of loving kindness. Lord of the Throne, full of all glory, doer of what He intends." (85:11-16)

Juz Amma from the Noble Quran Bilingual Edition English & Arabic

Juz Amma from the Noble Quran Bilingual Edition English & Arabic PDF Author: Muhammad Vandestra
Publisher: Blurb
ISBN: 9781388582906
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 36

Book Description
Juz Amma from The Noble Quran bilingual edition with english and arabic languange edition. The Noble Quran literally meaning "the recitation"; also romanized Qur'an or Koran is the central religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be a revelation from Allah SWT (God). It is widely regarded as the finest work in classical Arabic literature. The Quran is divided into chapters (surah in Arabic), which are then divided into verses (ayah). Muslims believe that the Quran was verbally revealed by God to Prophet Muhammad SAW through the angel Gabriel (Jibril), gradually over a period of approximately 23 years, beginning on 22 December 609 CE, when Prophet Muhammad SAW was 40, and concluding in 632, the year of his death. Muslims regard the Quran as the most important miracle of Prophet Muhammad SAW, a proof of his prophethood, and the culmination of a series of divine messages that started with the messages revealed to Prophet Adam (Pbuh) and ended with Prophet Muhammad SAW. The word "Quran" occurs some 70 times in the text of the Quran, although different names and words are also said to be references to the Quran. According to the traditional narrative, several companions of Prophet Muhammad SAW served as scribes and were responsible for writing down the revelations. Shortly after Prophet Muhammad SAW passed away, the Quran was compiled by his companions who wrote down and memorized parts of it. These codices had differences that motivated the Caliph Uthman to establish a standard version now known as Uthman's codex, which is generally considered the archetype of the Quran known today. There are, however, variant readings, with mostly minor differences in meaning. The Noble Quran assumes familiarity with major narratives recounted in the Biblical scriptures. It summarizes some, dwells at length on others and, in some cases, presents alternative accounts and interpretations of events. The Noble Quran describes itself as a book of guidance for mankind.

The Story of Water

The Story of Water PDF Author: Alick Bartholomew
Publisher:
ISBN: 9780863157387
Category : Hydrology
Languages : en
Pages : 328

Book Description
Water shapes our landscapes and sustains life on Earth. It also influences our emotions and inspires imagination and creativity. Yet we take it for granted, treating it as a convenience or for cleansing. In this comprehensive new book, Alick Bartholomew argues controversially that water is the medium of communication between all living organisms. He suggests that only through understanding water’s true role in Nature can we begin to live responsibly and sustainably. The book covers all aspects of water, from water in the cosmos and solar system, through the Earth's water cycles, to water in our bodies and in plants. It goes on to consider the larger picture as well: water's cosmic role, the memory of water, and its crucial relationship to the quantum field. Finally, the author addresses the future: the global water crisis and how to access the best quality of living water for human health. This is a serious but popularly-written illustrated book which offers an original and fascinating study of water as a vital dimension that interconnects all life on Earth.

The Makings of Indonesian Islam

The Makings of Indonesian Islam PDF Author: Michael Laffan
Publisher: Princeton University Press
ISBN: 0691162166
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 325

Book Description
Indonesian Islam is often portrayed as being intrinsically moderate by virtue of the role that mystical Sufism played in shaping its traditions. According to Western observers--from Dutch colonial administrators and orientalist scholars to modern anthropologists such as the late Clifford Geertz--Indonesia's peaceful interpretation of Islam has been perpetually under threat from outside by more violent, intolerant Islamic traditions that were originally imposed by conquering Arab armies. The Makings of Indonesian Islam challenges this widely accepted narrative, offering a more balanced assessment of the intellectual and cultural history of the most populous Muslim nation on Earth. Michael Laffan traces how the popular image of Indonesian Islam was shaped by encounters between colonial Dutch scholars and reformist Islamic thinkers. He shows how Dutch religious preoccupations sometimes echoed Muslim concerns about the relationship between faith and the state, and how Dutch-Islamic discourse throughout the long centuries of European colonialism helped give rise to Indonesia's distinctive national and religious culture. The Makings of Indonesian Islam presents Islamic and colonial history as an integrated whole, revealing the ways our understanding of Indonesian Islam, both past and present, came to be.
