He married Isabella Henry (1788-1840), daughter of William Henry and Rosannah Moore. They had thirteen children. Joseph died 18 August 1860 in Louisiana, Missouri. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Ireland, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Missouri.
