The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1994–1997, volume 4, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from March 7 through December 21, 1996. During the entire period of 1994 until his death in 1997, Brother Lee ministered in Anaheim, California. The contents of this volume are divided into fourteen sections, as follows: 1. A message given on March 7, 1996. This message is included in this volume under the title The Difference between the Lord’s Recovery and the Denominations. 2. Twenty-five messages given on March 7 through December 8, 1996. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Meetings in Anaheim. Five of the messages were brief and were combined with other messages. 3. Six messages given on April 9 through 11, 1996. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Divine and Mystical Realm and are included in this volume under the same title. 4. Five messages given on April 9 through 11, 1996. These messages are included in this volume under the title Pre-meeting Fellowship on the Divine and Mystical Realm. 5. Four messages given on April 28 through June 29, 1996. In this issue we will continue four lines of ministry. The first line--The History of the Lord's Recovery--contains chapters 9 through 12 of The Apostles' Teaching, which are in volume 1 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1990. This section includes fellowship concerning the seven seals, the seven trumpets, and the seven bowls in relation to the rapture of the saints, the second coming of Christ, the kingdom of a thousand years, and the New Jerusalem. The second line--Words for New Believers--contains chapters 2 through 5 of The Crucial Revelation of Life in the Scriptures, which are in volume 2 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1969. These chapters cover life for image and dominion, the Lamb, the manna, and the produce of the land for eating, aspects of drinking in the Old Testament, and the flow of life. The third line--Maturing in Life--contains chapters 3 through 6 of Perfecting Training, which are in volume 1 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1980. These chapters contain messages on the damage of opinion, how to deal with opinion in the church life, killing opinion by the vision of Christ, and a dominating factor to deal with opinion. The fourth line--The High Peak of the Divine Revelation--continues with the final chapter of Crystallization-study of the Epistle to the Romans, which is in volume 1 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1994–1997. This chapter covers the announcing of the gospel. This section then continues with chapters 1 through 3 of Crystallization-study of the Gospel of John, which are in volume 4 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1994–1997. These chapters begin with an introductory word on the Word of God and then focus more specifically on the Word of God and God.

This issue of The Ministry of the Word contains the eight messages of the international training for elders and responsible ones hosted by Living Stream Ministry on April 1-3, 2022. The messages were provided via webcast from Anaheim, California, and the mutual fellowship, prophesying, and studying by groups were practiced locally by the various churches that participated. The general subject of this series of messages is "God's Economy in Faith." God's economy is God's household administration, which is to dispense Himself in Christ into His chosen and redeemed people that He may have a house to express Himself, which house is the church, the Body of Christ. God's economy is initiated and developed in the sphere of faith (1 Tim. 1:4). Faith is the substantiation of the divine facts concerning God revealed in His Word. Faith is the unique requirement for us to contact God in His economy and the unique way for us to carry out His economy. Faith is a proclamation that we are unable to fulfill God's requirements but that God has done everything for us and that we receive all God has planned for us, all God has done for us, and all God has given to us. For this reason, as believers, we need to be persons of prayer who pray with God as our faith. The real significance of prayer is to contact God in our spirit and to absorb God Himself. A praying person will cooperate with God, work together with God, and allow God to express Himself and His desire from within him and through him, thereby enabling God to accomplish His purpose. All the saints need faith and are the household of faith. The leading ones are particularly charged to be men full of faith in order that they can infuse the saints under their care with faith so that all can experience God's economy daily and even moment by moment. The leading ones' manner of life, the way they live and conduct themselves, should be worthy of consideration and an example of faith that is worthy of imitation (Heb. 13:7). When those who take the lead have such imitable faith, they are participating in the apostolic ministry, which cooperates with Christ's heavenly ministry to shepherd the saints according to God (Acts 20:28). We live the Christian life and run the Christian race by looking away unto Jesus--the Author, the Originator, of our faith and the Perfecter, the Completer, of our faith--and by turning away from every other object to Him who is the greatest attraction in the universe. If we look away unto Him as such a wonderful and all-inclusive One, He will minister Himself as heaven, life, and strength into us, transfusing and infusing us with all that He is, so that we may be able to run the heavenly race and live the heavenly life on earth. In this way He will carry us through all the lifelong pathway of faith and lead and bring us into glory. Furthermore, our faith in Christ brings us into the life union with Christ. This faith links us to the Triune God and enables us to run the race that every saved Christian must run with endurance to win the prize. We can live the Christian life, live Christ, by this linking organ of faith. By this faith we are joined to God in Christ to participate in all that the all-inclusive Christ is, has, and has attained to, for the producing of the organic members of Christ to constitute and build up His organic Body, which will consummate in the New Jerusalem as the enlargement and expression of the eternal Triune God. Following this enlightening and crucial word concerning the vision that matches the age, Brother Lee began to speak concerning the present practice in the Lord’s recovery. His speaking, which we include in this issue, was a continuation of his desperate fight, begun in October 1984, to overturn the old traditions among the churches and bring in a new way, the God-ordained way, to meet and to serve. In this message, our brother emphasizes the practice of the new way: to preach the gospel, build up the small groups, and teach the truth, while not forsaking the larger church meetings on the Lord’s Day morning. Six other messages in this issue are taken from the Thanksgiving Conference in November 1997. The general subject of this conference was “The Sevenfold Intensified Heavenly Ministry of Christ.” Christ’s work in the stage of His intensification is to intensify His organic salvation, to produce the overcomers to build up the Body of Christ, and to consummate the New Jerusalem. We must advance from a work in the stages of incarnation and inclusion to the work in the stage of intensification. The Lord’s speaking in this conference through His ministry was instant and intensified, showing us the way to become lovers of Christ, martyrs for Christ, and eaters of Christ for the ultimate consummation of God’s eternal economy, the New Jerusalem. The Lord is advancing in His move to propagate Himself in Eastern and Western Europe. In this issue we include a report on the Lord’s move there, providing some details of the work to distribute our publications, the Full-time Training in London, an international meeting of brothers, and upcoming international blending conferences in five European countries.

Book Description
In this issue of The Ministry, we continue the line of fellowship on the present practice and practical outworking of the building up of the church. We include a message spoken by Brother Lee to the serving ones in the church in Taipei in 1960 on the building up and the need for consecration for the building. All the work in the New Testament is for the building up of the church as God’s habitation, and the practical building requires that we offer ourselves up in consecration to God. This consecration is twofold: According to Romans 6, it is the presenting of our specific members to live a life of sanctification and righteousness in Christ, and according to Romans 12, it is the presenting of our whole being to be the material for God’s building. The following six messages are from the first half of the Living Stream Ministry’s Summer Training of 1997, entitled The Crucial Contents of God’s New Testament Ministry. On June 9, 1997 our Brother Lee rested from his labors and went to be with the Lord. This training, which followed immediately after our brother’s departure, was a thorough review of the contents of the New Testament ministry, which he brought to us over many years. In 2 Timothy 3:14 Paul says, “But you, continue in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from which ones you have learned them.” The messages in this series are a tribute to and a reminder of the ones through whom we learned the things of God’s New Testament ministry. In this training the local churches raised up under this ministry resolved anew to continue in these things. Lastly, we report on the Lord’s move in His ministry on the earth. Letters from Berlin, Germany and Warsaw, Poland testify of the opened door in Europe through the blending of the churches and the publications of the ministry.
