Tyner, Holyoke, Massachusetts: To Be Disposed of at Absolute Public Sale on Friday Evening, February 1st, 1901, Beginning at Half-Past Eight O'clock in the Grand Ball Room of the Waldorf-Astoria, Fifth Avenue and Thirty-Fourth Street Auguste Bonheur was born at Bordeaux in 1824, the son of a struggling artist who eked out a living by painting portraits, landscapes, and signs, by giving lessons and making illustrations for the publishers. The father was so poor that even with the assistance of his wife, an ac complished musician and teacher, the family barely had a subsistence. After his wife's death the father moved to Paris, and, by the time that Auguste and his sister. Rosa were respectively eighteen and twenty years, married a thrifty widow, whose able management made it possible for the talented children to pursue their art studies.
