The availability of considerable polymorphism for grain colour in finger millet enables usage of white finger millet in various food processing industries. Its usage directly depends on the availability of high yielding, biotic stress resistant and nutritionally superior genotype cultivation. Present investigation is carried out to identify contrasting genotypes for high yielding, neck and finger blast resistant and micronutrient rich genotypes in white finger millet. Fourteen genotypes were evaluated in two locations (Bengaluru and Mandya) during kharif 2013 and 2014 for yield and yield attributing traits, neck and finger blast incidence and grain nutrient contents. The results showed that genotypes were significantly different for all traits. None of the genotypes were superior for all the traits. Nevertheless the genotype DHWFM 11-3 besides being taller, had earheads with longer fingers. High leaf blast incidence was observed in TNEC- 1234 (4.66) followed by GPU-67 (4.33).The finger blast incidence varied from 8.95%-93.97%. The genotypes TNEC- 1234 (93.7%), GPU-67 (56.36%) and OUAT-2 (47.5%) had highest finger blast incidence. Genotypes GE-6834-1, VL- 384, GE-728 and VR-1034 were promising for protein content; All high yielding genotypes were comparable for grain protein content, resistant to leaf blast, neck blast and moderately resistant to finger blast with had comparable grain protein content. High yielding lines showed lower iron, zinc and calcium content. KMR-344 has exhibited highest seed yield among the white finger millet genotypes across environments. OUAT-2 had exhibited higher yield coupled with highest iron and zinc content. Genotypes resistant to the neck blast and finger blast were comparable for grain yield potential, grain protein content and associated with lower iron and zinc content. Genotypes rich in protein and calcium content are comparable grain yield potential, resistance to leaf blast, neck blast and finger blast incidence.
