Samuel Mackey, Sr. (1800-1890) was born in Drumore, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Ann Kimmons Mackey. In 1835 he married Phebe Wilkinson (1804-1886) who was also from Pennsylvania. They joined the L.D.S. Church and settled first in Nauvoo and then Montrose, Iowa. They joined the Mormon migration to Utah where they settled in Sanpete County. They were the parents of ten children. Descendants live in Utah, Idaho and other parts of the western United States.
