The publication is produced from a health manpower data base designed, established, and maintained by the Manpower Management Information Division of the Washington Headquarters Services/Directorate for Information Operations and Reports in support of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs. This report includes comparison data for the end of the fiscal year by authorizations and assignments by corps level and selected specialties. Other formats present recruiting summaries, gains by program source, force strength projections, and extensive displays of rank, years of service, and primary duty specialties for medical and dental officers. Education summaries show recruiting sources and projections for Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program (AFHPSP) and graduate medical and dental education programs. (SDW).
