Après une restitution des données théoriques concernant la surdité, ses conséquences et sa prise en charge, ce mémoire présente une enquête menée auprès de parents d'enfants sourds. Celle-ci, réalisée par le biais de questionnaires, est destinée à mieux appréhender leur vécu en tentant de retracer leur parcours et d'en connaître les difficultés. La synthèse des données issues de cette étude fait ressortir quelques points importants qui ont pu manquer à ces parents mais qui auraient pourtant pu les aider. Elle témoigne notamment de l'intérêt de mettre au point un matériel interactif d'information comprenant entre autre un recueil de témoignages de parents.
