Rather than focusing on a singular arena of society, Sugino considers contemporary sources across media, law, and popular culture to understand how they interact as dynamic sites of meaning-making. A fiction writer needs to be able think freely, to analyse characters, to imagine lives that perhaps have nothing to do with the authors daily existence. I found it very helpful.
