Print paper from hardwoods has been developed at the Forest Products Laboratory at Madison, Wis. Hardwood chips are subjected to only a mild chemical treatment and then reduced to fiber through the use of a rod mill, a hollow horizontal steel cylinder half filled With steel or bronze rods.
