IHS Project AN-81-232 ultimately provided the City of Mountain Village with two community wells, a pumphouse, one 100,000 gallon water storage tank, 7,200 feet of 4 and 6-inch arctic PE water main, 4,600 lf of 6-inch arctic PVC water main, one 12.5 kw standby generator, 8,100 feet of 8-inch arctic PE sewer main with manholes, one 78,000 gpd mechanical sewage treatment plant, two lift stations, and 1,100 feet of 3-inch PE force main. A total of 149 houses were served.

The City of White Mountain, on behalf of the residents of White Mountain, Alaska, first requested assistance from the Indian Health Service (IHS) in November 1960 in constructing community sanitation facilities for the Native Residents. Minimal IHS sponsored sanitation facilities were first provided for the community in 1965. Later inspections indicated that most of the earlier constructed facilities were intermittently used. IHS Project AN-80-198 provided the City with a pumphouse/washeteria building, individual water hauling and storage containers, wastewater disposal facilities, and individual pit privies and served 25 homes.
