Des instruments d’évaluation standardisée de la dangerosité ont été élaborés visant à une meilleure prédiction du risque de récidive basée sur des variables statistiquement corrélées à celle-ci. Nous examinons les instruments d’usage courant en pratique expertale, qui se partagent entre une approche actuarielle pure s’appuyant sur des facteurs statiques, et une approche y associant des facteurs dynamiques permettant un jugement clinique structuré. Leur valeur prédictive ainsi que leurs limites sont discutées et nous tentons de comprendre la méfiance des praticiens français à leur égard. Enfin nous illustrons par un cas clinique l’apport de ces outils standardisés et les questions que soulève leur mise en œuvre pratique.
