This Bill, introduced in the House of Commons on 23 May 2012 has the overall objective to encourage long term growth and simplify regulation. The Bill is in six parts with seventeen schedules and extends to the United Kingdom. Part 1: Ensures that the UK Green Investment Bank plc engages only in activities that contribute to achieve one or more of the statutory "green purposes"; Part 2: Makes changes to the employment tribunal process, introducing a series of reforms to streamline the existing system and encourage employer compliance; Part 3: Establishes the Competition and Markets Authority and abolishes the Competition Commission and the Office of Fair Trading; Part 4: Reforms the competition functions of the new Competition and Markets Authority to improve speed, quality and robustness of its decision making; Part 5: Makes provisions to include sunset (when a law ceases on specific date) or review provisions in secondary legislation and repeals to unnecessary legislation to reduce burden on business; Part 6: Repeals section 52 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 so as to provide full copyright protection for the period of the author's life plus 70 years.
