Book Description
Spiritual realization is not that tough to pursue. It only needs proper understanding of the psychic being and the making of it. What is really needed is a thorough knowledge about the process of creation. Unless one knows all the components of a machine, a perfect machine cannot be made. Unless one has total knowledge of the Spirit, spiritual knowledge cannot be perfect. An ill- conceived spiritual knowledge will only be an erosion of time in one's precious life. There are too many theories about spirituality and too many jargons are used, thereby complicating the process of understanding spirituality. Pursuing the spiritual path is easy for those who could understand the intricacies of the phenomena involved. Once a proper spiritual life is pursued, the result will be distinctly evident, resulting in eternal happiness and joy. This edition has simplified the process of realising the Self within. The book has been divided into two parts. The first one is the theoretical aspect and the second one is the practical aspect. Theory deals with the process of acquiring knowledge and elucidates all about Soul and soul. Technical terms have been avoided as for as possible and all that is necessary to understand spirituality have been explained to the extent that is required to understand them. The first part deals with inner psychic organs, maya, karma, Brahman, individual soul, Prakrti, sensory organs, creation and death, sheaths of body. The origin of worldly experience begins when inner psychic organs set out their interdependence with gross body. The second part deals with the practice of uniting self with the Self. A small portion also deals with endocrine glands situated in third eye. Every effort has been taken to present this edition as simple as possible, so that spirituality is understood in its true sense and practiced perfectly to attain final liberation.

Category : Family & Relationships

Book Description
Humanity today is plagued by a loss of meaning and alienation from self and others. The result is unprecedented levels of divorce, depression, anxiety, addictions, suicide, and crime. Because societal institutions have failed to resolve these and other everyday problems, it is now the task of each individual to heal and unite their divided self: body and spirit, conscious and unconscious, feminine and masculine. Drawing on Jungian psychology and wisdom traditions from world religions, Dr. Raffa offers a self-guided journey to heightened self-awareness and compassion for oneself and others. A self-assessment tool called the Partnership Profile gives readers a personalized status report on their inner forces, including the maturity of four feminine archetypes, four masculine archetypes, and a newly emerging archetype of egalitarian partnership. This awareness, combined with suggested practices, empowers readers to address their imbalances and create the lives for which they yearn.

Wisdom for the Soul of Black Folk

Wisdom for the Soul of Black Folk PDF Author: Roderick Terry
Publisher: Gnosophia Publishers
ISBN: 0977339157
Category : Reference

Pages : 386

Book Description
Another book of quotations? Indeed there are numerous excellent extant anthologies of quotations, but these tend to be very broad, with a bias toward classical and well-known authors; those works which document the contributions of Black authors have tended to focus on African-Americans, considerable as their output is. Undeniable recognition of this prevalence is reflected in the title of the present volume which pays homage to W. E. B. Du Bois? classic work and in the preponderance of entries from American sources. Nevertheless, effort has been made to cast a wider net to capture under-represented and unfamiliar voices. Khemetic texts preserved in papyri and stelae are the earliest literature to have survived, followed by the writings of North African Romans and Ethiopian philosophers and clerics, and the lately recovered Timbuktu manuscripts from their repositories in the desert sands of Mali. The Transatlantic slave experience gave rise to the slave narratives and abolitionist literature from both sides of the Atlantic, which remained predominant right up to the 20th century. Post-Emancipation under colonial rule and white domination, Black poetry and prose emerged, adhering to prevailing standards, evidenced typically in the work of Phillis Wheatley and the sonnets of Claude McKay. With the Civil Rights and Black Power movements would come iconoclastic expressions of protest and identity. There is a sizeable body of literature by Black authors from Africa and the diaspora who speak to universal values and eternal verities. This anthology of their work focuses on the inner life, on personal development and self-actualization. 3000 quotations have been selected to inspire, enlightenand encourage; they have been arranged in 200 psycho-spiritual categories and in chronological order. The resulting timeline of thought in itself is useful and instructive as it demonstrates very clearly the evolution of consciousness evident in the contemporary thinking on particular subjects. Like its predecessor, Wisdom for the Soul: Five Millennia of Prescriptions for Spiritual Healing, this volume contains a full biographical index and bibliographical references. Much of the material is anthologized here for the first time.
