Los suelos contaminados han sido un tema pendiente para el derecho ambiental durante muchos años. Debido a la novedosa y compleja regulación, son pocos los autores que se han dedicado a su estudio, con lo que esta obra representa una gran aportación, en tanto que se detiene en el análisis del régimen jurídico de estos suelos. Además no tan solo lo hace desde la perspectiva del derecho positivo vigente en el Estado, sino también teniendo en cuenta las propuestas que aún no han sido aprobadas, tanto en el ámbito de la Unión Europea, como incluso en el propio Estado, así como la regulación establecida en Estados más avanzados que han afrontado con anterioridad la problemática, como es Alemania. También incorpora un análisis jurisprudencial de la materia, de gran interés, ya que, si bien la jurisprudencia sobre la materia tampoco es numerosa en el Estado español, sí lo es, en cambio, en Alemania. La obra incluye además esquemas para hacer más comprensible la materia, así como una tabla de equivalencias entre normas.
