Book Description
The report presents the results of a series of tests made to determine the effects of the proposed Delaware River channel enlargement between Philadelphia and Trenton on salinity intrusion in the vicinity of and upstream from the Delaware-Pennsylvania state line and on hydraulic conditions throughout the estuary. The proposed channel enlargement consists of deepening and widening the existing 25-ft-deep by 300-ft-wide channel between stations 00+000 and -150+000 to 40 ft deep by 400 ft wide. A brief description of the model and a brief discussion of the hydraulic and salinity adjustment and verification are also included in the report. (Author).

Book Description
The authorized project dimensions for the Delaware River navigation channel between Allegheny Avenue (sta 0+000) in Philadelphia and Trenton Marine Terminal (sta -150+000) have been revised by Congress from a width of 250 ft and a depth of 25 ft mlw to a width of 400 ft and depths of 40 and 35 ft mlw. The report describes model tests made to determine the effects of the channel enlargement between sta 0+000 and -150+000 on hydraulic conditions throughout the entire estuary, and on salinity intrusion in the vicinity of the Delaware-Pennsylvania state line. Since several navigation-channel alignments are possible in each of these reaches, model tests were made to obtain data for use in selecting the best alignment for each.
